My fear is that this will be the beginning of the end of this country as we know it. Overall standards of living decrease exponentially where redistribution of wealth is extreme.

FDR "redistributed wealth" and guess what; so did Eisenhower. Don't let them use dirty little terms to snow you. Besides how can you even be worried about it unless you're a filthy rich executive?

Our standard of living is much higher now than it was under FDR or Eisenhower. Look at the rest of the world - every country with nationalized healthcare has average home sizes about half of ours. You could take 100% of the income of the "filthy rich executives" and not come close to paying for healthcare. Anyone who believes otherwise pays no attention to the numbers.

Umm, most countries have average home sizes of about half of ours. I'm not quite sure what average home size has to do with anything, anyway.

Guess what...we already pay more for healthcare than any other country in the world. So why doesn't everyone have coverage? Why is that if we are paying so much more per person?

You measure quality of life by home size? The reason our QOL is better now is because the two aforementioned presidents were cleaning up a mess made by Herbert Hoover and there is no doubt that QOL was on the upswing following the great depression. QOL now is trending in the opposite direction in this country.... and nobody is talking about "Nationalizing" our healthcare system. In case you haven't noticed Obama's proposal is to simply bring another payor into the systemand ensure that all CHILDREN are covered.

"socialist" is such a vague terms. i am sure he is all for social programs, just as most republicans are...and anyone else who voted for the bailout...
