Biden is seen as an everyman - he's not a millionaire, he's not polished. He makes gaffes, and commutes by amtrak. That certainly helped Obama in MANY parts of the country.

That he is not a millionaire just shows how fucking incompetent he is. He earned $230,700 in 2010 and his net worth was $262,500.
