Is it time to focus on more important things than this never ending healthcare plan?

Where in the existing bill does it say this??

Yes, that word existing. Of course we both know the answer to that. Problem is, that isn't what is going to be reported out of the reconciliation is it? This is a government take over of the health system of the United States period. My statement, "Civil War over whether a group of men has a right to own the health care of everyman", is certainly far more accurate than, "Civil War over whether people deserve healthcare". Did that word idiot really help you make your point? Even republican for that matter. You sure ALL Democrats will vote for the bill?

Proof?

Where in ANY bill does it provide for the Government to "take over" our healthcare system??

Just because Rush Limbaugh says it doesn't make it so!

Let me make this simple.

NOWHERE does it say government will take over healthcare.

However....government will not be able to take over healthcare until it runs a healthcare company.

4 out of 5 drafts have the government running a healthcare company.

A goverenment run healthcare company does not need to make a profit nor does iut need to curb costs as it has a bottomless pit to take from.

It will be the demise of the competition.

Government will run healthcare in time.

No, it is not in the bill.....but it is basic business logic.

Nice diversion to rush however...when all else fails, blame rush.

Here's a start:

What if each state could decide whether to offer public coverage instead of having it decreed from Washington — as proposed by Sen. Tom Carper, D-Del.?

What if states had a menu of options, from nonprofit co-ops to using their own employee health plans?

What if public coverage were offered only as a backstop in areas where one insurer has a lock on the market?

Do you need me to draw a map?

But I thought the republicans said the government was too inept to do anything right? How can they run something as complicated as an insurance company.

Truth is the government option would be very apealling. Low cost, low overhead........how bad is it that real Americans would be able to get affordable insurance?
Who wins with a public option? The American people
Insurance companies can compete with government, they would just have to alter their ways....nothing wrong with them having to compete.

They can't run an insurance company. They already proved it several times over. We call it Medicaid, Social Security (yes, it is an insurance) and Medicare.

Low cost? Really? You seen the premiums yet? How can it be low cost when you add the most expensive people to the plan? Those with preexisting conditions and the poor with their lack of previous care.

low overhead? So you see the health care coverage bureau as a small group? If it is, good luck getting approvals for procedures or timely payments to doctors. Yes the doctors, who will stop taking government insurance as payment due to the delays.

who wins with a public option? government, who now as taken over another part of your life.

compete? How do you compete with an organization that makes every rule and can print money or tax someone more? Then they completely change your business model by making you assuming more risk.

Don't use words and terms you don't understand.

Why is it that everyone who has Medicare loves it?

If you don't want the public OPTION don't take it. But why deny it to the people who do want it? What are you afraid of?

Everyone who has Medicare loves it? Where is your proof of that? You fail for the umteenth time to understand when the insurance companies fall there will be no option. Seriously you are a waste of my time.

Convoluted logic

If the Government OPTION is provided and is so good that insurance companies can't offer competion....then you worry about not having an OPTION anymore

To stop this, you propose eliminating any option to private insurers????

Bottom Line.....Government Option will save people money

It isn't a good option, just the ability to monopolize the market. Government may save SOME poeple money, but will never save money as in lower overall costs. Glad you understand you have convoluted logic.

It provides the same coverage at lower cost.

If you don't like it keep your private insurer......but don't deny other people the option

"I don't want the Government option.....and I don't want anyone else to have it either"
