Is it Still to Early in Our Evolution....?

Seriously?

Doesn't anyone else out there think that the individuals and corporations that supply venues and guidance for worship at a fee aught to be taxed?

The shows are at least as popular as dinner theater and those guys get taxed... Why not tax the worship industry like any other entertainment / information business?

what is the fee structure?:eusa_eh:

From what I know most take donations and encourage 10%, but like any other business, individual models within the Worship Industry vary, but the bottom line is the industry supports individual players who can afford some pretty nice property:

:eusa_think: Besides... Because it's 'America', if we want to tax the Muslims, (and what red-blooded American Mutt isn't in favor of taxing those fuckers?) if we want to tax those fuckers we can't exactly not tax the Christians. Because it's 'America'... :eusa_think: Damn, this is a TOUGH one.

How much Joe? 100%? Then they couldn't buy any property. How dare them buy property anyway. They also wouldn't be able to run food banks, coats for kids, help the indigent pay their bills, set up clothes closets, visit prisons, run schools that actually teach children to read and oh God forbid, write. Help adopting parents with children the gov. wasn't able to rid us of on the abortion clinic table, run the mothers in need clinic, etc.

Do you really think we need our government screw ups determining the extent of the charity of our churches? God expects prosperity for His followers, and provides it. What makes you think you deserve any part of it? And if you remove the separation of church and state, aren't you worried it might show up in your secular self serving school rooms? And in your godless home?

How many coats have YOU handed out to needy children so far this fall Joe? Maybe you should be thankful there is an "industry" that picks up your slack so you can sit on your ass and complain about them being too successful, and figuring out how you can get some even though you deserve none. Have you at least bought some poor child a pair of shoes this year?

Maybe you should leave well enough alone and let the churches do what most others can't be bothered with...

They are using roads, paid for by tax payers, police services, and the fire department....all paid for by tax payers.

And if they can build this...

And rob people blind, so you can negotiate multi-million dollar deals in a diamond mining contract with dictators, and instead of delivering supplies to the refugees, use the planes for hauling diamond mining equipment to your home, YOU SHOULD PAY TAXES!

AND IF YOU REFUSE TO PAY TAXES, NEXT TIME YOUR CHURCH CATCHES FIRE, YOU SHOULD PRAY FOR RAIN!

Is it still to early in our Evolution to ask the worship industry to start paying taxes?

No. They should. Sell things but call the required price a donation or love gift. Exercise political activism and lobbying like everyone else. Yet remain the one exempt group though there's no reason they should.

Catholic Church owns many non-religious business and real estate holdings. Should be taxed just as much as any other multi-billion dollar corporation (which is probably very little after accountants get through but it's the thought that counts.) :)

Churches don't use roads. People use roads, and the people that contribute to their church, also pay taxes to use those roads, and for firemen to put out fires. If a policeman has to go to the address where a church is standing because of a crime, I'll bet the church isn't the one committing the crime.

Not one person has gone blind due to tithing or giving.

Diamond mining, horse racing, and jet setting are not the norm. Buying a child mittens and boots is.

Don't want us in schools, in public, or in private, then don't want our money either....

well, when you start evolving, let me know.

till then I hope we will continue to understand English when our constitution says "congress shall make no law"

Only their charitable giving should be tax exempt. The gold ceilings should be taxed.

The priest can get a tax break on a Ford Focus, not a BMW.

I may be more generous if they weren't so political.

Reminds me of the other day when I said the rich don't pay taxes and some guy replied "the top 10% pay 68% of all federal taxes"

I know that's probably a misleading lie but can you explain why/how?

You guys are funny. On one hand you argue that corporations are people and now you're saying churches aren't?

I suppose you want us to explain the obvious differences between corporations and churches? You might want to start with the first amendment and go from there
