Is freedom of Religion a freedom of Slavery ?

i think organized religion should be abolished.

at the same time i am very much FOR every kind of personal freedom such as:

* freedom to take any drugs you want ( heroin, steroids whatever )
* freedom to have sex with anything you want ( prostitutes, animals whatever )

here is the problem:

abolishing organized religion would qualify as taking people's rights away - something i am generally against of.

on the other hand to let them have it is in effect to take even more rights away from people indirectly. because these morons if you don't exterminate them will take away your rights to abortion, stem cell research and whatever else they can think up like pornography, condoms whatever.

one alternative would be to let them keep their religion but write a really long list of specifically every kind of right that they can't fuck with.

but then that would just create a lot of suffering. you would have these zombies walking around really pissed off about everybody else being sinners. every once in a while one of them would kill one of us infidels for our sins. like stone some 15 year old girl to death for having an abortion.

Folks like you scare the bejeezers out of me. You sound like Libertarians, and that would be ok, but you also seem to lack an ethical, moral compass, along with your ideas of what freedom is, and that means I, constitutionally need to be aware of you or those that espouse what you espouse.

If your looking for a utopian society, your looking in the wrong places and or making the wrong choices or future choices.

If you want to "bomb" your body with drugs, illicit or legal, have at it, but don't push that on my turf.

It's also the case in the Jewish and Muslim world. The Ten Commandments apply to all these cultures.


Atheists have no morals other than those they stole from the Bible.


No atheist has a right to expect someone to obey the Ten Commandments in regard to them.

That's what I often read from militant christians, until they run across atheists or anyone else who doesn't accept unproved beliefs as "facts." Funny (peculiar) how that works....

This is a huge flaw in thinking, that you share with the zealots you are confusing with other decent people who just happen to follow the christian beliefs. Most atheists do NOT want to remove religion, only those atheist zealots who can't see the benefits of having some sort of belief system.

So to recap: You are no better than the zealots you attack, and you are also attacking the good ones. Freedom of religion does not mean NO religion, it means you get to choose what you follow and no one can tell you what not to believe either.
