He built a personal empire with FaceBook, which was a value added addition to what we, the people provided the infrastructure for. At the point where the company is going public, he announced his decision to renounce his American citizenship to save paying taxes on his historic capital gain.

You can agree or disagree with what he is doing for his personal gain... a decision about his own citizenship...

The big scumbags though are also the ones who think that the government should be confiscating over 50% of this person's income

Your 50% figure is bullshit. Most of his projected gain would be taxed at reduced rates. He's still making money on a publicly financed infrastructure.

Publicly financed?

He doesn't charge to be a member, companies pay to advertise.

Less than 50% in federal income tax or capital gains tax... but we all know, idiot dick sucker, that the 'evil rich' and even the average Joe UpperMiddleClass pays ~50% or more with all the hidden and not so hidden taxes... you want me to start listing them again??

Tell us more about that "publicly financed infrastructure".............

Maybe every facebook user should get an equal share, because they really created the service.........

REALLY lol

Duh....The Internet was publicly financed. The American taxpayers paid for it, and it was put on the public domain.

He is sensible. Many Americans have had to make that decision, last year almost 2,000 of them made that decision. This year even more will.

The government got greedy, this is one of the consequences of overtaxation.

The Internet?

You think anyone who makes money online should be taxed higher?

Are you on crack?

The original net may have started that way... it is not in any way shape or form even close to that now..

nice try

So you're in favor of people who can make a bundle, using a taxpayer financed infrastructure, renouncing their citizenship to avoid paying taxes. I'm not surprised. Your 50% number is still a pantsload.

Prediction: FaceBook will be irrelevant in a few years... the next kiddie rage will take over and FaceBook will go the way of MySpace.

Whatever.

If it weren't for the users typing about various aspects of their lives, the company would be worthless. That's why I believe it's way overvalued.

America still decides whether it's open or not. Recent votes still support net neutrality. I guess this pisses you off. It's still an infrastructure put in the public domain by the American taxpayer, and this scumbag is about to make a bundle exploiting it, and is renouncing his citizenship to avoid paying tax on his huge profit.

You seem OK with this.
