I think this is a valid question. He has expanded the size of Government exponentially and has attacked several nations since taking office. So what do you think?

That would be an absolute YES. just like Bush was a socialist who using tax payers money bailed out banks and other corporations. according to the media the difference is colorfull.

Yea i just don't see any change in policies. I know his supporters try to rationalize and invent all these supposed diferences, but i just don't see them.

The definitions have been redefined but they are meaningless in the context of leading the government. The government is big and will continue to be big no matter who tries sabotage it into total dysfunction.

I saw that movie 'The Obama Deception' the other night. Now I know many will say it's just a silly Conspiracy Movie but it actually did make a lot of sense. The American People have been proven to be easily duped time & time again. I do feel that Bush and Obama work for the same Bosses. There hasn't been any change.

I think it's a valid question and my answer is no. Yes, he has expanded government and yes he started two additional wars but there is more to being a NeoCon than that.

He's a typical progressive.

That's why i don't see much difference between Socialists/Progressives & Neocons. Their policies always seem to to take you to the same place. That's how i see them anyway.

I would say Barack Obama has bombed more nations than even Bush did no? How many is he up to now?

Not much 'diff' between most GOP/DNC candidates now a days. The rank & file GOP constituency are of about the same ideology... they have a love affair with big government.

Man,can't argue with you on that. They do seem to be playing on the same team these days when it comes to Big Government. Thanks.

You really should have defined the context of "Neocon". I read thru wiki and got about 20 different things that they do, but nothing precise. If you mean a guy with conservative foreign policies and liberal domestic policies, then yes. If you mean Libertarian-lite, then no.

The problem BO has is that as the Debt grows, he simply is being painted into a corner as far as things he can actually do. A BO with no money is a lot different than a BO with no spending limits. Maybe the OP needs to consider what he "Can actually do" as opposed to what he "would like to do".

I'm just speaking to his policies overall. I just don't see change. In fact the more i look, the more similarities i see between him,Bush, and McCain. He has governed as a Big Government Neocon in my opinion.

If you are only talking about foreign policy and using the police power of government then yes, i see your point, but don't forget the second syllable of "NeoCon". Neocons share some of the same beliefs that other Cons do, which are much different than the progs.

This may be part of the responsibilities of the Oval Office. He has the best information to make decisions with and he makes them accordingly, to his credit. IMHO if the ideologues had ALL of the info BO has, they might see things differently, similarly for the GOP candidates when they get in.

BO kept us relatively safe, his biggest mistakes were early on, he sucks-up to Wall Street for his $billion. He's a typical pol.

If that's how you feel, that's cool with me. I just thought there would be change. His tenure has only been a continuation of the previous Administration's policies. I didn't think we would get an even bigger Big Government and more Wars. Just how i see it anyway.

If BO wants my vote he would need to do some of the following "changes"
1. tax all transactions on Wall Street (no more casino, create capital for investment)
2. no more short-sales (no more stealing from our 401Ks)
3. no more derivatives (see 1 & 2)
4. no more flash-trades (see 1 & 2)
5. make a few laws to reduce outsourcing

Research the "American Jobs Creation Act" and see that its a lie, it gives tax breaks to outsource. The lying bastards in DC are simply whores for Wall Street.

Well our own little USMB Poll is leaning Yes in a big way so far. Stay tuned.

The pejorative "neocon" is one of those terms that (like the Occupy movement) means different things to different people, so much that "neocon" really doesn't mean anything, except as an insult term (my humble opinion). No doubt though Obama's a Big Government guy who is financed by wealthy backers with globalist ideas.

Surely you must have seen ObamaCare coming. The Democrats had been itchin' for federal health care since HillaryCare was stymied back in the 90s, and now that they had the Presidency and Congress, this was their time to strike before the Republicans had to numbers to stop them.

And I have to wonder where all the anti-war protesters disappeared to (oh, they moved on, occupy yada yada). The so-called anti-war movement was there just to get their particular flavor of globalist in.
