iran was the real winner with our invasion of iraq. not only did it let them take over the government of iraq as well as have direct access to more tribes and militant groups, it also lets them have a proxy war with us that we cannot win. One of the main reasons we are currently not acting against iran militarily either alone or in conjunction with israel is that they could destabilize iraq in a day's time at most. Since it was bush's late plan and obama's campaign plan to get us completely out of iraq this is not acceptable and political points will not be jeopardized in order to help save israel, since they would be first receipents of any nuclear attack by iran. Of course we would come in as "hero"s though if it did happen and blow iran back to the dinosaur days.

Anyone who understood the dynamics of Shiite/Sunni relationships new this before we invaded. Actually, during the run up to the invasion, some people argued that exact thing.
