GAZA, (PIC)-- The secretary general of the inter-Parliamentary union, Anders Johnsson, has said that the deportation of the Palestinian Jerusalemite MPs from their hometown by the Israeli occupation authority (IOA) would top the agenda of the IPU's human rights committee in its next session scheduled for 12th July.

Johnsson said in response to a message by MP Mushir Al-Masri, who heads the international campaign to release the detained Palestinian deputies, that the deportation is in violation of the deputies' parliamentary rights and violates international laws and norms.

The international campaign had made a series of contacts with Arab and international parliaments and organizations in a bid to revoke the Israeli decision to banish those deputies.
