See the cameras only work if it's the police. The police don't have to beat them to a pulp, merely being unpleasant will do to play to the lens.

The same tactic doesn't work when it's just civilians. The sight of a group of men and possibly women fighting their way to vote just doesn't engender the same sense of sympathy as a uniformed cop and baton.

Would garner a huge groundswell of support for fighting to exercise their rights.

All of that aside, I doubt that the Iowa Republican caucuses will see huge amounts of activity by Occupy. Maybe a little. But most of the focus right now is on the Democrats rather than the Republicans, and also on things like helping people who are faced with foreclosure, and keeping pressure on the banks. But if any one person is the main target of Occupy, it's Barack Obama.
