What if the Obamas had paraded five children across the
stage, following the debate, including a three month-old infant and an unwed, pregnant teenage
daughter?

What if John McCain was a former president of the Harvard Law Review?

What if Barack Obama finished fifth from the bottom of his college
graduating class?

What if McCain had only married once, and Obama was a divorcee?

What if Obama had met his second wife in a bar and had a long
affair while he was still married?

What if Michelle Obama was the wife who not only became addicted
to pain killers but also acquired them illegally through her
charitable
organization?

What if Cindy McCain graduated from Harvard?

What if Obama had been a member of the Keating Five?
(The Keating Five were five United States Senators accused of
corruption in 1989, igniting a major political scandal as part of the
larger
Savings and Loan crisis of the late 1980s and early 1990s.)

What if Obama couldn't read from a teleprompter?

What if Obama was the one who was known to publicly display a serious
anger management problem?

What if Michelle Obama's family had made their money from beer
distribution?

You could easily add to this list. If these questions reflected
a reality, if the tables were turned, do you really believe the election
numbers would be as close as they are?

This is what racism does. It covers up, rationalizes and minimizes
qualities in one candidate and emphasizes negative
characteristics in another when there is a color difference.

And, think of this - the candidates' educational backgrounds:

Barack Obama:
Columbia University - B.A. Political Science with a Specialization in
International Relations.
Harvard - Juris Doctor (J.D.) Magna Cum Laude

Joseph Biden:
University of Delaware - B.A. in History and B.A. in Political Science.
Syracuse University College of Law - Juris Doctor (J.D.)

John McCain:
United States Naval Academy - Class rank: 894 of 899

Sarah Palin: Hawaii Pacific University - 1 semester
North Idaho College - 2 semesters - general study
University of Idaho - 2 semesters - journalism
Matanuska-Susitna College - 1 semester
University of Idaho - 3 semesters - B.A. in Journalism

Education isn't everything, but this is about the two highest
offices in the land as well as our standing in the world.

You make the call.

You are correct.

Racism has minimized the accomplishments of Michelle and Barack.

But that is ok. He has run a perfect campaign, and he is going to win, and he is going to be a good president.

Probably a lot more conservative president than people think.

Funny how a black man does everything right.

Studies hard ,gets good grades, gets himself into a great school, finishes with honors, works to help other people climb out of poverty and marries well and takes good care of his kids , yet shomehow they still say hes not good enough?

Exactly, I don't want a joe sixpack running the whitehouse, intelligence and temperment are important presidential qualities. With Obamas supeior policys and intellect, combined with Bidens unrivaled expertise in foreign relations, you have a clearly superior team. McCain and Palin's campaign has further damaged the brand of the party. McCain will not only lose on the 4th, he will take the GOP with him.

You are correct.

Racism has minimized the accomplishments of Michelle and Barack.

I think it is more accurate that racism has forgiven the sins of John, Cindy, and Sarah.

G.W. Bush graduated from Harvard and Yale yet you liberals have called him a dimwit for almost eight years now.

Hypocritical much?

Check out Michelle Obama's senior thesis entitled "Princeton-Educated Blacks and the Black Community" (How creative!) and tell us all how much of a genius she is:
Michelle Obama thesis was on racial divide - Jeffrey Ressner - Politico.com

There's a reason she's not campaigning next to Barack.

The democrats really didn't think Obama would just float through this election did they. Sorry, but just flinging a black candidate up there doesn't change any rules.

GWB was not called a dimwit because of his creds, but because of his asinine comments and actions once he got in.

You do know that Obama got extra points on his Harvard app because his father went there, right?

As I've said many times...her thesis is garbage, it wouldn't earn a "C" in any of the high school comp classes I ever attended.

We could play this sort of game all day.

- What if Michelle Obama had been even half as involved in charitable organizations as Cindy McCain?

- What if the Obama's had adopted a child from a war-torn nation?

- What if John McCain had promised publically to accept public funding for his campaign and then went back on his word, raising more money than any other candidate in history and using that money in unprecedented ways - including buying a solid 30 minutes of time on 3 major networks a week before the election?

- What if Barack Obama had been a war hero?

- What if John and Cindy McCain had been married by a racist minister?

- What if John and Cindy McCain had had their children bapitized by a racist minister?

- What if John McCain had stated that he considered a white supremisist a mentor and guide?

- What if John McCain's campaign kicked three reporters who publically supported Obama supporters off his press bus?

- What if the McCain campaign had gone after people who spoke out negatively about him, including threatening law suits for people who were putting out negative campaign ads against him?

- What if John McCain didn't release his undergraduate college records?

- What if Sarah Palin plagerized several of her speeches?

- What if Sarah Palin blatantly had lied in her debate with Biden?

- What if John McCain had stated that bad things would probably happen if he was elected...and that the decisions he made might be confusing...but we should just "trust him."

- What if a citizen who asked McCain a tough question suddenly had his tax records, child support records, and other intensely personal information riled through in an unprecedently thorough manner?

- What if that person became an object of scorn and derision to the Obama camp...for simply asking a quesiton that McCain had answered truthfully?

- What if McCain had said he had almost visited all 57 states? Had forgotten where he was several times? Had called Americans bitter, religion and gun-clinging bigots?

- What if McCain had been part of the corrupt Chicago politcal machine for years, even though he was claiming to be different than all the others?

- What if Cindy McCain had announced that because people supported her husband, she was proud of her country for the very first time?

- What if McCain was running on the patently dishonest "95% of Americans will get a tax cut" line?

- What if McCain had said "tax cuts for everyone who makes less than $250,000" but had also been heard in speeches to say "$200,000" or even "$150,000"

- What if McCain had been vehemently against the Surge, and Obama had stated that he would rather not be elected President than not support the Surge.

- What if Palin had stated that paying higher taxes was "patriotic." Or that not wanting to pay more taxes was "just selfish?"

- What if John McCain had once written on a survey that he supported banning handguns?

- What if Cindy McCain had received a million dollar earmark courtesy of her husband for a hospital she worked for?

- What if John McCain had stated that one of the most important issues to many Americans, an issue that is frequently at the heart of debate during Supreme Court nominations was "above his pay grade?"

- What if John McCain, after campaigning as an "outsider" who would "change" the system...took a running mate who had been a Washington insider for decades?

- What if the media had been as blatantly and proudly in the tank for McCain as they are for Obama?

I agree that Obama's education is impressive, as is Biden's. It is certainly in my - Reasons to Vote Obama/Biden column. But if we want to play games as to who has received fair treatment/equal treatment in this election...I just feel that by this point...everyone here has already chosen their camp and isn't really interested in truly evaluating this election fairly.

George Bush spent 20 years as a self admitted alcoholic.

The man clearly pickled his brain.

"Childrens do learn."

I think the original is more an exercise in illustrating the nature of racism in our society.

:clap2:

What if McCain did not bother to go to his dying mother side?

What if McCain called someone a "typical Black woman"?

If McCain went to a lunatic white supremacist church and had a minister that talked like Wright, you think it wouldn't have been an issue?

What if McCain hung around people who blew up Abortion clinics?

What if ....

I think people are in love with the idea of racism, and those who chirp about it the most often are those who are the biggest feeders of it.

I do believe that I have some racist views.

Chirp chirp.

Maybe this is why the original post grabbed me so strongly.

Ok...well, with that in mind...

- Imagine if Barack Obama...a first-term senator who had spent a huge amount of his time in office campaigning...who has done nothing of major note legislatively in his career...who had numerous questionable relationships....was white.

Too bad he is a marxist and strives to stifle political free speech, too bad his wife lived to be 45 before she could say she was proud of her country.. yes then there's that.
