Intellectuals Gone Bad!

Yes, Chomsky is a liberal thinker but his main focus is to allow all levels of writing and discussion without killing the messenger, per se. He wants everyone to think their own thoughts and have the freedom to express them, not to be silenced by one or the other via authoritarian control.

Intellectuals can be an even worse disaster when they themselves are the rulers.

Consider Robespierre
1-15--guillotine.jpg

Robespierre was a Class A nutjob. He adopted the Jacobin radical ideology of the time, a far-leftist ideology similar to Communism, so we all know how that goes.

Not at all true. As demonstrated HERE Chomsky has been an apologist for some of the worst dictators of the 20th century.

There was a time after WW I when you could be a modernist intellectual, a Fascist, and a Communist all at the same time. And why not? The three are triplets, part of the same family.

>There was a time after WW I when you could be a modernist intellectual, a Fascist, and a Communist all at the same time.
>Fascist, and a Communist all at the same time.
>Fascist and Communist
>at the same time

I feel bad for the human race. Being a fascist myself, you cannot be a Fascist and a Communist at the same time.

I think you are 100% correct in that assertion, AP.

Communism is completely different from Fascism.

Well its certainly different when it comes to who controls society, that's for damned sure.

Communism wants anarchy, a stateless and classless society.

Anarchy in the sense that Communists actually believe that society can be constructed based on ownership of the means of production by the workers.

Like you, I suspect,, I think they are utopians.

Communists also have a desire for equality for all people.

Yup

Fascists, on the contrary, want the opposite. They want a strong autocratic state, and believe that rampant inequality is natural, and that we should acknowledge this inequality and realize there are superior and inferior individuals, and that the superior (intelligent people concerned with the welfare of the nation) should rule rather than the inferiors (the masses who are too stupid to realize what is right.)

My GOD :eek:an actual self proclaiming FASCIST who truly understands the theory of fascism!!!

I love you, man. :eusa_angel:

I mean I don't love your social philosophy, but I love that you at least know what it is, and can articulate it clearly.

Liberal democracy has destroyed our nation, given idiots the right to vote, and corrupt our country with their unintelligent and unqualified decisions which affect all of us.

Hey don't worry about it. Liberal Democracy exists only as a guise for what this nation really is. AS I suspect you also already know, what we really have is a KLEPTOCRACY

I think you need to read up on fascism and communism. They are mutually exclusive. Very. Mutually. Exclusive.

You know what the problem is.

People think HITLERIAN GERMANY was authentic fascism, and STALINESQUE USSR was authentic communism.

You can understand why that confuses people, given how similarly both tyrannies treated their own people.

True for both Fascism and Marxism-Leninism.

Well then I guess Soviet Communism shares some of my authoritarian views. However, not all Marxist-Leninist conceptions of the state were intended to be totalitarian states. That only formed as a result of certain rulers. Usually Marxist-Leninists try to create a liberal leftist paradise built upon egalitarianism, and try to put the means of production into the hands of the workers. They try to make a paradise for themselves and their nation. Problem is the human race hasn't evolved to the level where we're all willing to live in such anarchies and have them work for more than a couple months. In small numbers, they can work with like-minded individuals, but you try subjecting a whole nation to it, you will get bitten. Such as the CNT and FAI in Catalonia during the Spanish Civil War (and I would give Mr. Franco a thank you and a pat on the back for taking care of those Communists and Anarchists.)

True. However, National Socialist Germany was fascism, but it's portrayed as the premier example of fascism rather than looking upon Mussolini's Italian fascism or Franco's falangism. We all know how demonized National Socialist Germany is today, so therefore, fascism is also demonized.

Stalinist USSR is debateable whether or not it is Communism. While it certainly had the State Socialist aspect of Communist states, usually it's in pursuit of equality, but Stalinist USSR was much more nationalist than other Communists (i.e, most Communists/Socialists in the past and today were anti-nationalist) and can be considered fascist. Strong autocratic state, rule by a leader who is strong and cares for the welfare of said state and nation, and overriding majority rule because they don't know what's best for the nation they live in: checks out for fascism in my book.

Also, thank you for the compliments instead of immediately demonizing me. I appreciate it.

Astonishing article: The Strange, Strange Story of the Gay Fascists

quote: The twisted truth is that gay men have been at the heart of every major fascist movement that ever was - including the gay-gassing, homo-cidal Third Reich. With the exception of Jean-Marie Le Pen, all the most high-profile fascists in Europe in the past thirty years have been gay. It's time to admit something. Fascism isn't something that happens out there, a nasty habit acquired by the straight boys. It is - in part, at least - a gay thing, and it's time for non-fascist gay people to wake up and face the marching music.

When Intellectuals Attack

Here are some quotes from F. T. Marinetti's The Founding and Manifesto of Futurism.

quote: We affirm that the world’s magnificence has been enriched by a new beauty: the beauty of speed. A racing car whose hood is adorned with great pipes, like serpents of explosive breath—a roaring car that seems to ride on grapeshot is more beautiful than the Victory of Samothrace.

quote: We will glorify war—the world’s only hygiene—militarism, patriotism, the destructive gesture of freedom-bringers, beautiful ideas worth dying for, and scorn for woman.

Marinetti's fellow atheist Nietzsche inspired Hitler. Here's Hitler admiring history's most famous atheist:

hitler-and-nietzsche.jpg

quote: Hitler often visited the Nietzsche museum in Weimar and publicized his veneration for the philosopher by posing for photographs of himself staring in rapture at the bust of the great man.

quote: Finally there was Nietzsche's prophecy of the coming elite who would rule the world and from whom the superman would spring. In The Will to Power he exclaims: "A daring and ruler race is building itself up.... The aim should be to prepare a transvaluation of values for a particularly strong kind of man, most highly gifted in intellect and will. This man and the elite around him will become the 'lords of the earth'." Such rantings from one of Germany's most original minds must have struck a responsive chord in Hitler's littered mind. At any rate he appropriated them for his own--not only the thoughts but the philosopher's penchant for grotesque exaggeration, and often his very words. "Lords of the Earth" is a familiar expression in Mein Kampf.

Too many intellectuals are united in their hatred of Christianity, their desire for absolute power, and their determination to exterminate the ”unfit”, the “inferior”.

That's not an intelligent reply. I am of course not criticizing all intelligent people, just smart people who serve fascism or Communism or various other forms of depravity. Surely you condemn people like Heidegger and Trotsky, don't you?

What is the purpose of the OP. Why not post a comprehensvie list of people that worked in or helped heinous regimes throughout history. List all the bakers, and plumbers, and typists, because you seem to be assigning the associative fallacy to anyone that was part of such a regime, lived near them, or heard of them.

So, what is the purpose of the OP.

If you can't cite a legitimate source, you are automatically incorrect.

List all the bakers, and plumbers, and typists,
lol Don't you think intellectuals are more influential?
because you seem to be assigning the associative fallacy to anyone that was part of such a regime, lived near them, or heard of them.
If you think somebody I mentioned shouldn't be on the list, please be specific.

You have to be kidding, there are books written about many of these people, to go through a list like that would be tedium stuffed into boredom.

What is the purpose of the OP?
