An intelligence source on the ground in Libya told Fox News that there was no demonstration outside the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi prior to last week's attack -- challenging the Obama administration's claims that the assault grew out of a "spontaneous" protest against an anti-Islam film.

"There was no protest and the attacks were not spontaneous," the source said, adding the attack "was planned and had nothing to do with the movie."

The source said the assault came with no warning at about 9:35 p.m. local time, and included fire from more than two locations. The assault included RPG's and mortar fire, the source said, and consisted of two waves.

The account that the attack started suddenly backs up claims by a purported Libyan security guard who told McClatchy Newspapers late last week that the area was quiet before the attack.

"There wasn't a single ant outside," the unnamed guard, who was being treated in a hospital, said in the interview.

These details appear to conflict with accounts from the Obama administration that the attack spawned from an out-of-control protest. The Libyan president also said Sunday that the strike was planned in advance.

U.S. officials, in response to the claim that there was no demonstration at the time of the attack, told Fox News there was a small protest earlier in the day -- but they did not dispute that there was no significant or sizeable demonstration at the time.

But a senior Obama administration official told Fox News on Monday morning that the Libyan president's comments are not consistent with "the consensus view of the U.S. intelligence community," which has been investigating the incident, and are accordingly not credible.

"He doesn't have the information we have," the U.S. official said of Libyan President Mohammed el-Megarif. ""He doesn't have the (data) collection potential that we have."

The Libyan leader told CBS News' "Face the Nation" on Sunday that the government in Tripoli harbors "no doubt" that the Sept. 11 attack that killed U.S. ambassador Chris Stevens and three other Americans was "preplanned, predetermined."

Obama and the gang that can't govern, will attempt to hold to the farce, that the attack on the consulate was just a demonstration that got out of hand, until after the election. Otherwise, they have to answer for a terrorist attack and inadequate protection at the consulate.

They are hoping that their admirers in the lame street media will cooperate to tamp down the truth. It will be interesting to see if they are correct in that hope.

Oh, the MSM press is quite the lap dog these days, all right.

If this had been a Republican POTUS, this blatant lie to the public would have been headlines all day long.

Isn't it weird how we're not hearing from any people who were there? No interviews, no personal accounts? :eusa_eh:

First hand account...

Guard at consulate in Libya says attack was coordinated

BENGHAZI, Libya -- A Libyan security guard who said he was outside the U.S. Consulate when it was attacked Tuesday night has provided new evidence that the assault that left four Americans dead, including the U.S. ambassador to Libya, was a planned attack by armed Islamists and not the result of anger over an online video that mocks Islam and its founder, Muhammad.

The guard was interviewed Thursday in the hospital where he is being treated for five shrapnel wounds in one leg and two bullet wounds in the other.

He said that the consulate area was quiet -- "there wasn't a single ant outside" -- until about 9:35 p.m., when up to 125 armed men descended on the compound from all directions.
The men lobbed grenades into the compound, wounding the guard and knocking him to the ground, then stormed through the main gate, shouting "God is great" and moving to one of the many villas that make up the complex.
He said they struck without warning.

"Wouldn't you expect if there were protesters outside that the Americans would leave?" the guard said.

Yeah, but where are the accounts from State Dept. personnel who survived? :eusa_shifty:

What personnel? They were move to a "safe house" how many people do you think would be there? Four people and some Libyan guards

There were people moved to a safe house that then came under attack as well. Hard to believe that's just a "protest".

Good question. Usually when something bad happens, the media are interviewing everybody who witnessed it. Weird that we're not hearing even condition reports on people with injuries, none that I've noticed today anyway.

People just don't show up to protests with RPGs and then turn up at "safe houses".

It is quite evident that our intelligence failed to uncover the plot. Those who attacked the Consulate had better intelligence. This Administration's lack of providing adequate military security at US Embassies and Consulates in foreign countries needs to be addressed by Congress. The killing of one American is one too many.
Do you think that any Islamic Terrorist gives a rat's ass about an apology? They view this as weakness that encourages the to do more of the same.

The right of Free Speech has been attacked by our own government.

There is no doubt in my mind that the well armed attack was planned to take place on the anniversary of 9/11. This was no coincidence!
