It is nice to know that we are treating our injured servicemen like crap. So they won't be tempted to tell the truth. Bad enough that we send them to die in a war of personal vengeance.

Soldiers at Walter Reed Army Medical Center’s Medical Hold Unit say they have been told they will wake up at 6 a.m. every morning and have their rooms ready for inspection at 7 a.m., and that they must not speak to the media.

“Some soldiers believe this is a form of punishment for the trouble soldiers caused by talking to the media,” one Medical Hold Unit soldier said, speaking on the condition of anonymity.

It is unusual for soldiers to have daily inspections after Basic Training.

Soldiers say their sergeant major gathered troops at 6 p.m. Monday to tell them they must follow their chain of command when asking for help with their medical evaluation paperwork, or when they spot mold, mice or other problems in their quarters.

They were also told they would be moving out of Building 18 to Building 14 within the next couple of weeks. Building 14 is a barracks that houses the administrative offices for the Medical Hold Unit and was renovated in 2006. It’s also located on the Walter Reed Campus, where reporters must be escorted by public affairs personnel. Building 18 is located just off campus and is easy to access.

The soldiers said they were also told their first sergeant has been relieved of duty, and that all of their platoon sergeants have been moved to other positions at Walter Reed. And 120 permanent-duty soldiers are expected to arrive by mid-March to take control of the Medical Hold Unit, the soldiers said.

As of Tuesday afternoon, Army public affairs did not respond to a request sent Sunday evening to verify the personnel changes.

The Pentagon also clamped down on media coverage of any and all Defense Department medical facilities, to include suspending planned projects by CNN and the Discovery Channel, saying in an e-mail to spokespeople: “It will be in most cases not appropriate to engage the media while this review takes place,” referring to an investigation of the problems at Walter Reed.

What war EXACTALLY are YOU talking about?

And, what's wrong with that?

I was in an Army hospital with an ear infection in 1965, we were required to stand inspection every morning, big fucking deal!

Your in the ARMY now, get over it.

“Some soldiers believe this is a form of punishment for the trouble soldiers caused by talking to the media,” one Medical Hold Unit soldier said, speaking on the condition of anonymity.

"Speaking on the condition of anonymity", no ass wipe, this is standard operating procedure, The MEDIA has nothing to do with your recovery.

As to punishment, YOU don't have any idea what punishment is.

It is unusual for soldiers to have daily inspections after Basic Training.

What Army have YOU been in? Daily inspections are not UNUSUAL at all.

Absolutely correct. Not following the "chain of command" is the first step in toward the break down in discipline.

My God, is there NOTHING on God's green Earth that isn't up for misinterpretation by the liberal media?

These are the same people, that would push their sorry nose's into the grieving families of dead, or dismembered loved one's just after a tornado.

Fuck them and the stupid horse they road in on.

Yea, people get removed and transferred, big deal, well yea, to the MSM, 2 plus 2 equals 6, or maybe 3, who the hell knows?

Take control, what's that mean, a combat ambush? With a light infantry platoon? Or maybe were talking urban warfare.:cuckoo:

As of Tuesday afternoon, Army public affairs did not respond to a request sent Sunday evening to verify the personnel changes.

Why should they?

I would suppose they had other pressing matters.

Who could blame them?

Every time they open themselves up for inspection, the media blows the whole thing completely out of pond!

I wouldn't talk to the ass holes either.

The best interest of the hospital personnel are not served by talking to a "predisposed" media.

Seems simple enough to me.:eusa_think:

Well the press makes a big dealabout the poor conditions at Walter Reed and the Army makes changes to remedy the situation....what did they think was going to happen?

They thought that they would get slow action, or no action, and were already writing follow ups in advance. Now someone will have to fill those column inches with uh uh something.

So The Army Times is now part of the alleged "liberal media"?
That's a hoot!

Uh yeah. It's a specialty paper, just like the Navy Times or Stars and Stripes. From time to time they try to raise circulation by running hit pieces just like the mainstream press. If you try to remember that it is about $$ not truth, it all falls into place.

Fox News convinces me of this every day.

Very good. Learn to look at things that are reality based and you won't be such an easy target for those that oppose your philosophy. How was the honeymoon?

The Army Times is NOT "the Army Newspaper". Many do not know that but it is true...it is not published, edited or financed by the US Army. As has been stated by Pegwinn, sometimes they do hit pieces to increase circulation. By the way, somethimes the Army times is just plain WRONG!

I'm sorry you took the time as well. It was hardly worth reading.

The honeymoon was awesome. We went to Australia. Took in the Boxing Day cricket test. Good stuff.

Hardly worth the time...... for a second there I thought you were talking about me.

Glad the honeymoon went great.

Read my blog and you will learn about reality v. philosophy. Take care.
