I still don't like that we have same-day registration. If someone hasn't been living in the state long enough to register in advance, and hasn't shown enough care about his or her civic duties to register in advance, then how helpful is their vote to getting the best person for the job elected?

But I am glad that we have a voter ID law now. That does give a slightly greater chance that the people who will be voting have been in the community long enough to be informed about the issues.
