India saying it wants to go big on renewables!!

Go to Google and search "India China smog" and look at images. Is that winning? Would you want to live in the cities there?

Why are so many governments in both developed and developing countries so adamant about coal? Partly because it is difficult to overstate the negative impacts of energy poverty. Living without electricity drastically reduces children’s chances of getting a decent education and forces families to rely on dangerous kerosene for light. Many families without electricity cook food on wood or dung fires which emit toxic fumes, killing an estimated 1.3 million Indians a year.

But fAiL....India banks are pouring billions into....ready for this.....coal:oops8:

India wants more renewables, but its banks are pouring billions into coal

Gee but the climate crusaders tell us every day in here that coal is dead

Why is this a fail. India has different resources than the US. The India government is concerned with intense smog in the cities, The India banks are interested in profit.

You are conflating India's energy economy with the US economy.

Coal is dying in the US because natural gas is cheaper. CBS news:
Last year, gas used in utility plants cost as low as $16 per megawatt hour compared to some $22 for coal. ... “Natural gas is cheaper and more plentiful.

Great post with many sobering facts, of course, not of any interest to the climate crusaders.

Coal meets needs of governments at the cheapest cost. That's why they will continue to use it for many decades. Everything else is just noise from people with great imaginations....which of course makes "climate action" in the United States an exercise in collective k00kiness. After all, it is the climate crusaders who routinely tell us about "world temperature averages".
