What are we going to do when the Buddists, the Hindus and the Muslims team up?

BEIJING: Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on Tuesday said India and China can help dislodge the West as the centre of global economic gravity if they avoid confrontation and forge a closer partnership.

Singh, who was addressing the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, said the two countries could come together by following what he called the 'Asian Way'. "We will do it the Asian Way - avoiding confrontation and building trust, confidence and consensus. It is only in an environment of peace that prosperity in Asia can be sustained. India and China have an important role to play in building peace, security and stability in the region," he said.

The Prime Minister seemed to suggest that India and China should jointly consider the possible impact of recent developments in Pakistan.

He did not name Pakistan but said: "Recent developments in our neighborhood have brought home to us again the imperative need to collectively fight terrorism and extremism in all forms. As large and diverse societies, we are well placed to demonstrate the benefits of moderation and peaceful co-existence."

As the American economy fails our power to exact our will on the rest of the world is severely dimished. A little deep for most of you but well worth the read and contemplation.

He never said that India and China would work together to dislodge the West!! How can you ever think of this? An Indian leader wanting to join hands with his Chinese counterpart against the West????????

Its just the sentiment in India that "When the American economy sneezes the rest of the world catches a cold!". He must have meant that Asia should greatly improve its economy so that any possible American economy crisis does not effect us. India can never forge a deal with China at the expense of its relations with Washington. PS:- You don't know Indian politicians. Never ever trust them when they talk about China and Pakistan as "friends, partners, comrades in arms" and all that bullshit.

You must be insane by trying to prove that Hindus and Buddhists are against America.

Dude , an Indian leader will not be caught dead by trying to forge any sort of alliance with China. The main purpose of Singh's visit was to garner Beijing's support on the Indo-US nuclear deal.

INDIA AND CHINA CAN NEVER BECOME ALLIES. PERIOD. Not when the focus is shifting towards Asia. Not when both nations are competing to be the next economic/military superpower. Wait and watch. India and China are headed for a major showdown with
each other in this century.
