Fatah to Re-evaluate Reconciliation after Hamas Actions

RAMALLAH, January 8, 2012 (WAFA) – Fatah Central Committee Sunday said that it will re-evaluate the reconciliation agreement it had reached with Hamas as a result of the way Hamas officials treated a Fatah delegation upon entry into Gaza on Friday.

Fatah said in a statement that Hamas should apologize to Fatah and the Palestinian people for what its “interior ministry” has done when it prevented a high level Fatah delegation from entering the Gaza Strip forcing it to cancel its visit and return to Ramallah.

It described what happened as “unprofessional and inappropriate.”

The press release warned that Hamas’ actions might jeopardize efforts to achieve reconciliation and end division.
