Congress consistently brings the government to the edge of default before facing its responsibility. This brinksmanship threatens the holders of government bonds and those who rely on social security and veterans benefits.

Does this ring as a valid criticism of our current conditions, or is this the complaint of a socialist?

It's the complaint of a vapid, unprincipled, gutless wind sock, who called his predecessor "unpatriotic" for doing the same thing he wants to do.

It's the complaint of someone desperately trying to blame others for his own shortcomings. And when he was in a position to do anything about it he was the worst offender.

Do you guys at least think about going to Google to find the source of the bait the troll tosses out for you?

Sorry...I don't worship at the altar of Reagan, either.

For all his bluster, he stiffed America at controlling spending and bureaucratic bloat.

But did Reagan call his predecessor unpatriotic for doing the same thing he wanted to do?

It rings of "blame someone else for my lack of leadership" next question?

No, that's just tossed in for effect.

The OP is trying to frame Boiking's flamingly failed fiscal policies as somehow equal to Reagan's, and has failed at it.

Neither.

It is not valid because not raising the debt ceiling is not the same as defaulting on a loan. One is not borrowing more money, the other is not paying what you owe.

It is not the whinging of a socialist because socialist believe in paying debts, not borrowing more money just because it is fun.

No, It sounds like the words of an Imperial Minded President that thinks Congress is suppose to do what is told, when it is Told, With out attempting to Pressure him to make any fucking changes at all.

Obama and the Dems have utterly Failed on the Budget for 3 years now. I personally Demand the GOP and Fiscally Conservative Democrats Hold his Feet to the Fire each and every time the Debt Limit Approaches.
