A 33-year-old Houston man dates a 15-year-old girl, and for 2 years shacks up with girl. Weeks ago, now 17-year-old Houston girl throws pot of boiling water on 33-year-old man after a domestic dispute. Man is severely injured and died recently from complication from injuries from burns. Harris county DA just upgraded Keira Jones' charges from assault to murder. Though 17-year-old girl is named Keira Jones and 33-year-old man was named Ira Jones, the two were not married - Scalding victim fights to live; teen charged Girlfriend threw boiling water, police say 06/24/2011 | Archives | Chron.com - Houston Chronicle

In my opinion, this case appears to be a case of an abused child finally having the courage to fight back. What was a 31-year-old man doing dating a 15-year-old child? I wonder how many other little girls were victims of Ira Jones.

Do you think is a case of self-defense? Should Keira Jones be tried for murder?

Where were the girl's parents during these two years?

Good question. And why didn't the authorities immediate see child abuse in case?
