Recently, one of our colleagues wrote the following:

"If the Left did in fact control the Media, wouldn't that more than anything be a measure of the Right's impotence?"

And he's right.

1. The Left is far better at the methods and strategy that allows them to manipulate less than thoughtful folks. Two examples come to mind: the ACLU, and the Herndon Alliance.

2. The ACLU was founded on January 19, 1920, and Roger Nash Baldwin, the founder, was deeply involved in the communist movement. But he knew that the same was not true of Americans. His plan centered on the following:

“Do steer away from making it look like a Socialist enterprise…We want also to look like patriots in everything we do. We want to get a good lot of flags, talk a good deal about the Constitution and what our forefathers wanted to make of this country, and to show that we are really the folks that really stand for the spirit of our institutions.”-Baldwin’s advice in 1917 to Louis Lochner of the socialist People’s Council in Minnesota.
American Communist Lawyer’s Union : Stop The ACLU

The same obfuscation is necessary by all Left-wing groups, as Americans are center-right in outlook....but good Americans can be fooled.

3. Another group with the same strategy as Baldwin, this in support of ObamaCare:

“Herndon Alliance is the most influential group in the health arena that the public has never heard of…. When President Barack Obama says Americans can maintain their “choice” of doctors and insurance plans, he is using a Herndon strategy for wringing fear out of a system overhaul…. Same goes for Senate Finance Chairman Max Baucus (D-Mont.), who says he wants a “uniquely American solution,” another Herndon tactic for blunting attacks that Democrats favor a foreign brand of health careObscure group shapes reform fight - Carrie Budoff Brown - POLITICO.com

4. Here, the thinking, right out of Fabian socialism, and the aims: “We will never have 100% public support for health reform. We don't need to. But to ensure that reform is implemented successfully, we do need to capture and keep the support persuadable voters."
Q = A + 1

The Left looks for the uninformed, "persuadable voters."

5. The following from a memo of the Herndon Alliance:"we can and should take back words such as responsibility, fairness, freedom, and patriotism. For example, existing polls (CNN) showed the public voted primarily with the economy and jobs on their minds. But second to that issue, voters expressed wanting to return to the principles of the Constitution. We can’t ignore the voices of American; we need to take control in how we relate to and respond to their concerns, their fears, and their desires.” Klein and Elliott, “Red Army,” p.89.

Sounds just like Roger Baldwin, communist, ACLU founder: use the right words, and
pretend to have the same interests as Americans.

Well, the strategy of the Left is largely successful.

The antidote is knowledge of what they are doing.
