Impeachment Does Not Require a Crime

The title speaks for itself. Abuse of power is an impeachable offense. trumps impeachment is constitutionally correct.

You are quite right, impeachment can be anything that the Congress deems impeachable. Problem for idiots like you, is that once the impeachment is processed it goes to the Senate where sane people are in charge, and put down all the crazy shit that the left presented....You are a dumbass.

Impeachment does not require a crime and Hamilton said as much.

See: Op-Ed: Alexander Hamilton would have led the charge to oust Donald Trump

‘Trumpers will get their way and Trump will be exonerated.

‘But when the next president debases the constitution and abuses his office like Trump, they can look back today who they supported.

Unlike Trumpers if the next president is a democrat and acts like Trump and debases the constitution and abuses his office just like Trump, I will not be a good cultist like the Trumpist, but will stand up for what is right.

Going on the definition of high crimes and misdemeanors:

’The convention adopted “high crimes and misdemeanors” with little discussion. Most of the framers knew the phrase well. Since 1386, the English parliament had used “high crimes and misdemeanors” as one of the grounds to impeach officials of the crown. Officials accused of “high crimes and misdemeanors” were accused of offenses as varied as misappropriating government funds, appointing unfit subordinates, not prosecuting cases, not spending money allocated by Parliament, promoting themselves ahead of more deserving candidates, threatening a grand jury, disobeying an order from Parliament, arresting a man to keep him from running for Parliament, losing a ship by neglecting to moor it, helping “suppress petitions to the King to call a Parliament,” granting warrants without cause, and bribery. Some of these charges were crimes. Others were not. The one common denominator in all these accusations was that the official had somehow abused the power of his office and was unfit to serve.“

Abuse of power , among other offense, were considered as impeachable.

The Trumpers puts Trump before the constitution like Putin is above his constitution. Two peas in a pod.

Stop with the doom and gloom that our democracy is destroyed because the GOP senate acquitted Trump for bullshit charges. Every impeachment is based on a unique set of facts. The democrats pushed a bad impeachment case and got clobbered. It got shoved up their asses sideways.
1. Article-1 is dead because hearsay is not allowed in the senate like it was in the House, and Dershowitz will also prove that the charge doesn't rise to the level needed for impeachment. That is a very high bar.
2. Article-2 is dead because the USSC said that Trump does have due process rights, and that Trump can take House subpoenas to court, as well as claims of "executive privilege".

What the half-baked democrat impeachment against Trump did do was setup every president for impeachment by the House for nonsensical "crimes".

Then, you will have no problem with impeachment proceedings against the next Democrat to hold the office starting within hours of his inauguration?

Hmm. I don't remember the House bringing up impeachment right after Trump was elected. Probably because Republicans controlled the House. Sure you always had the fringe on the Dem party side calling for that...but Nancy was there to squash them...even after the Russia investigation concluded, Nancy said no. Until Trump just couldn't stop his inner stupid from coming out and she had no choice.

So if any future Dem President solicits a foreign power to intervene in our election on their behalf, yep, I'm up for the same treatment. But it has to rise to the level of what Trump did (and we know he'll be acquitted), not the eight years of crap the Republicans threw against the wall when Obama was president.

I agree with the OP ... the House can impeach, and Senate remove from office, for any reason they want to ... it's one of the "checks and balances" built into our constitution ...

My reasoning is that this is a strictly political process, not a judicial one ... to my knowledge, there has never be a case of removal from office accepted by the Federal District Courts ... however, my knowledge is quite limited, so if someone has a reference to an actual court case accepted, I'd be more than happy to read it; and if true, rescind my claims in this post ...

No evidence, no proof, no nothing ... just 2/3's the Senate is all ...

You will notice the Rumpsters are a bit quiet right now. Their Handlers are all in the crap houses confurring on their computers trying to come up with a response that won't quite sound as fruitcakey. Of course, they won't come up with anything so they will just come up with something stupid. But it'll take then a bit to dome up with it.

Say PROGS, which of these are NOT an abuse of power?

1. Obama unconstitutional mandates.

2. Sec. of State doing business with primarily Clinton donors.

3. Democrats, FBI and justice dept. colluding to invent Russian collusion, and presenting false information to the court.

4. IRS singling out Republicans.

5. Spying on an opponent's campaign through govt. authority.

6. Holding back aid from Ukraine pending removal of an inconvenient investigator.

7. Claiming Ukraine is highly corrupt while your son demonstrates a reason why.

8. Falsely claiming Trump is a Russian asset and spy.

Trump has already been impeached - HELLOOOOOOOOOOOOO DUMBASSES.

This again!!!!!!?!?!

Impeachment must never occur on an opinion. NEVER. This is what happened here. We agree there was a phone call. The phone call transcript was released. Aid to Ukraine was released. Zelensky said he did not feel pressured. Burisma situation is at best questionable in terms of how Hunter got that gig. But in the end we are all speculating and guessing when it comes to Trump’s intent.

The politicians have wasted our money by this bullshit process and people like IM2 racist, do not that the intelligence or education to see that.

People need to wake up.

“You don’t even have to be convicted of a crime to lose your job in this constitutional republic if this body determines that your conduct as a public official is clearly out of bounds in your role. Impeachment is not about punishment. Impeachment is about cleansing the office. Impeachment is about restoring honor and integrity to the office.”

Actually, the Articles of Impeachment are the evidence and proof.

That Trump engaged in contempt of Congress and abuse of power was established when the House voted to approve the Articles.

The Senate phase of impeachment is more sentencing hearing than ‘trial’ – the only question the Senate will consider is whether Trump’s acts in contempt of Congress and abuse of power merit his removal from office.

That the Senate will vote to not remove Trump from office is in no manner ‘exoneration’ – Trump will forever be impeached.

Does it require evidence?

No. It just requires an accusation by a lying, anti-American, butt-hurt liberal.

Along with the cooperation by a Criminal In Charge and his merry band of Criminals.
What crime has he been charged with?
No crime is necessary. Read post #6.
To be a criminal, you need a crime.

Since the Republican Senate will acquit Trump, the next president will be immune from impeachment for abuse of power because the Senate said abuse power is not impeachable. Nor will the next president be held accountable as he can give the middle finger to Congressional subpoenas. This is the new reality you all have created.
