Spending Cuts is what conservatives want. When a shop-a-holic or an habitual gambler year after year blow their entire families fortune & keep asking for more hand-outs or a raise because they are in financial ruin, You do not further enable them by giving them more money. They must get treated for their problem, have a plan & prove their willingness to follow the plan by being responsible for a time earning trust before you trust them with your money again. Most of us are tired of being the enabler. If the government goes down so be it.

I didn't say their methods were accurate, Just that they actually recognize the major problem long term deficit spending causes,

Course, the answer is to significantly cut spending and cut taxes. But sadly, that's not likely to happen.

Getting the government to admit that we can live with spending trillions less than we are currently spending is like pulling teeth.

And why exactly do you think raising taxes is going to fix anything?

Taxes have been raised many times this past this half century. And which time did it actually end deficit spending? The deficit/debt is higher than ever because politicians don't know how to spend money with any sense of maturity. Till they do that, why should we give them more money? Especially when it will slow down the economy.

Absolutely. Tax hikes always lower revenues. It's a basic economic edict. "Subsidize what you want more of, tax what you want less of." So you raise taxes on rich people, you get less rich people because they will flee your taxation or be turned into poor people. You subsidize poor people, you will get more poor people and what good does that do anyone?

Poor people don't create jobs. Poor people don't invest. Poor people drain your government treasury. Poor people don't start businesses to increase national productivity.

RICH people create jobs, invest, FUND your government treasury and start businesses that increase national productivity.

You need to encourage people to become rich and let those who wish to work and become rich do just that.

Why do you hate rich people giving poor people jobs?

Free markets are just evil aren't they? I mean how dare we decide on our own what to buy.

It's a conspiracy to screw us over. We should have the government tell us what we can buy and sell. That way all of us who are too stupid to take care of ourselves will starve to death and all our government officials can live in luxary.
