Has anyone ever visited IMDb and seen the Top 250 list there? It's a list of the top 250 rated films, based on visitors' weighted averages of the films. There's some good movies on there, lots of classic. There was a big fuss recently because The Dark Knight had become the #1 film on that list, and fans of The Godfather (the former #1 for years) were outraged. Anyway, it became a big to-do, and now neither film is #1 due to the bickering of the fans and their rating the other film with low scores. Now The Shawshank Redemption is #1 (which suits me just fine).

Anyway, I went there one day and read the list, and realized I hadn't seen a lot of the movies on there. So, I've started watching them all, in order. It's something I've been working on for about a month, just a way to kill time when I'm bored...I watch the next movie on the list.

You can find the list here: IMDb Top 250. It's a very comprehensive list, obviously American films are favored, but there's still a lot of foreign films (especially Hayao Miyazaki's works, you'll find 4-5 of his films on there, and Sergio Leone, even though his films are westerns). There are LOTS of Hitchcock pictures on there, which is okay with me, most have been really good. I detest Rear Window, though.

Anyway, I've been keeping a running tally of the films I've watched and how I've rated them. Figured I'd share that with you guys here, and if you want to discuss any of the films and ask why I rated something too high/low, feel free. :D

    2 The Godfather 7/10
    3 The Dark Knight 8/10
