I'm listening to the news this morning...

Hate?

Maybe they just are passionate about their country?

Could be, ya know.

Just because I believe Obama is a horrible president doesn't mean I hate him. I bet you knew that, too.

True. But you are, for the most part, reasonable.

I see you as intelligent enough to avoid advocating for Donald Duck for Commander In Chief on a t.v. interview.
Do you REALLY think they are advocating for a fictional character?

Or, are they saying "anyone but Obama", metaphorically?

I really would like to know which you think is more probable.

Of course it's a metaphor! That's the point - but, it could NOT be a stronger metaphor. The strength of the passion behind the metaphor is the other side of that point, hence my :wtf:.

:dunno: What if a write in campaign for an independent turns out to be the best shot for firing Obama?
Will you blindly follow anyone to rid us of Obama?

Ya cause they seriously meant they would vote for a cartoon character. Give me a break.

They were passionate in their desire to see ANYONE, including mythical characters, in the White House over its current resident. I'm curious as to why....

You ACTUALLY think they meant elect a cartoon character? REALLY?

Of course not, RGS - it's a metaphor designed to display the level of passion and desire to rid the White House of its current resident. I 'get' that. I want to analyze that desire and passion.

Why?

Not stealing enough from tax payers?

Cronies need more money?

The second amendment troublesome?

Why?

Let's just start with a US birth certificate... I see trouble ahead for Donald and Barny in producing that particular document on themselves.

So you are just trolling. you havent any real thoughts. :eusa_clap:

Well duh! I'm looking for REPUBLICAN thinking here...... Something I haven't been able to relate to since Reagan, hence my asking.

It's just the same as "anyone but Bush".

Unless folks have the same write in in mind, write ins never win.

And, I am of the mind that anyone [who is even somewhat viable] is better than Obama.

Does that mean I "hate" Obama, as you alluded to? No.

Does that mean I believe in fictional characters, as you alluded to? No.

Does that mean I would vote for Stalin if he were alive? No.

(The general I.)

Does that mean that I think Obama is bad - really bad - for my country? It sure does.

But, I thank you for your honesty. Because this is a lame talking point that doesn't deserve any legs, as we both obviously know. (Not saying YOU are lame, but the talking point is.)

I understand why this metaphor may upset some. I also understand how folks think Obama is bad for the country.

What we're seeing is that pubs don't really think. They hate President Obama more than they love their country. Fact is, if they really examined what President Obama has accomplished FOR THEM, they would feel differently. That's why I have referenced the link in my sig so often. But, they get their orders from such as Focks, Beck, Limbaugh who get their orders from Murdoch, the MUSLIM ARAB in charge of Focks programming, Kochs etc.

This is harsh... and unfactual. :dunno: There does seem to be a great deal of noise from individuals who are without focus... or too much focus... :cuckoo:

The issue I see most prominent and most dividing to us as a nation is that so many either lack vision or lack sharing vision with those in office. There is a great gulf between those in office and those outside of politics. Perhaps one *just* refuses the other... and from what I see and hear... it isn't the politicians doing most of the rejecting. :doubt:

Obama is a clueless Socialist Liberal thug. He has proposed no program nor signed any legislation that is good for this Country. Hell he has stood by while the Democrats ( his party) failed to pass a budget for 3 YEARS. 2 of which the Dems had insurmountable control of both Houses. Bush on the other hand got budgets passed even through Democratic Congresses and when less then 55 Republicans were Senators.

The democratic party is bankrupt. Obama is a failure. he was never vetted and elected solely because of his skin color. His supporters claim anyone opposed to this failure is a racist.

(Psssst. Barney and Donald aren't real.)

Yeah, well you should see how many write in votes that Disney characters garner every single election...

I think it's the primary reason that write in candidates have to be certified write in candidates. Mickey Mouse would have been governor since the 1950s. :D

You know...that might not have been so bad. Would have meant there never would have been a President Ronald Reagan or Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger.

Yabut, your ham sandwich would believe the LIE that there are 20K jobs on that pipeline.

Provide evidence that a write in Candidate beat Reagan in either or both of his elections. Then provide evidence that Schwarzenegger was beaten by a write in candidate.

It's not that hard to decipher. In most elections you hear about the anti votes. People are so against a candidate or encumbent that they will vote for another who is not the best in their mind, but will be better than the other choice.

.

Pretty sad to hear. Some people are just that loyal to their parties.

You mean like the blindly faithful Obamabots that cheer him no matter what he does or does not do? Like that? Like the ones that claim anyone opposed to Obama is a racist? The ones that claim the Tea Party was violent or racist? Those people?

How about the vast majority of the main stream press that did absolutely no fact checking or vetting of Obama in 2008 and continue to defend him by not running stories damaging to him? Like that?

Yeah, it's exactly the same thing. The mindset of 'anyone but X' is what elected Obama. Do we really want to make the same mistake again?

I'm so sorry. How long have you been humorless? Is it a permanent condition? What do the doctors say?

The first republican debate watcher said she'd vote Donald Duck if polls showed he had the best shot at beating Obama.

The next republican debate watcher interviewed said the same thing about Barney the Purple Dinosaur.

Seriously?!? :wtf:

Is this really the attitude of MOST of you republicans?
I no huge fan of Obama, but I'd rather have him in the White House than Barny or Donald.

then vote for him and stfu.

I don't know... this feels like it goes beyond party loyalty. These people interviewed really, really HATE Obama. Seems personal.

Close but no cigar s0n..............

They HATE his policies with a passion because they are fcukking up our great country beyond recognition.

But they loved Bush, well up to the last year anyway.

So would you vote for me, if it looked like doing so would guarantee an Obama defeat?
