I'm listening to the news this morning...

Believe it or not but Newt would be far worse than obama if newt won. Perry and Romney would be mirror images of obama.

I'm not sure he'd be worse, but he'd be no better. There's certainly not enough difference for me to waste a vote between the two of them. This is another example of the two-party system selling us out to corporatism. Fuck them.

newt would be worse because of the shock factor, so many conservatives think newts a conservative he's not. He's a snake oil salesman just like obama and we would continue down the same old road.

Okay, then double fuck them.

oh great.. so you're aiming for a twenty trillion dollar deficit.. hello from Greece.

idiot.
So I just elect Obama-lite (in more ways than one)? Just to get that asshat out of office? Then he can do the same fuckups Obama would have made but then slap the GOP label on them and call them conservative solutions?

Thanks, but no thanks. I hate that fucktard in the Oval Orifice as much as you do, and you know it. If the nation can't see clear to elect the best person for the job, though... we deserve what we get.

One positive note on a greek style collapse. Entitlement junkies have a notoriously short lifespan without them, and poverty and hardship for everyone creates a general attitude of distaste if not hatred for moochers and parasites now known as the occupados. Of course, this is only a small silver lining to a big black cloud. Much of which we are already doomed to experience thanks to the damage P-BO and congress has already done to us and has been kept at bay so far.

to vote obama back into office means you wish to stay the course he has set.. there's no other way to read that. you want America to fail.
Please don't be biting a friendly hand in the course of desiring and working for the Asshat in Chief's ouster.

The first republican debate watcher said she'd vote Donald Duck if polls showed he had the best shot at beating Obama.

The next republican debate watcher interviewed said the same thing about Barney the Purple Dinosaur.

Seriously?!? :wtf:

Is this really the attitude of MOST of you republicans?
I no huge fan of Obama, but I'd rather have him in the White House than Barny or Donald.

There have been many elections where I have voted against an individual rather than for a particular candidate. Actually Donald Duck and Barney loo pretty good compared to Obama. I am glad we have other choices.

Indeed. But remember - A vote for AVG-JOE is a vote for fair and simple taxes, a budget that's balanced by law and transparency in all things politics.

If you MUST vote for a cartoon character next year, think two mutts in a Jeep!

Would you agree or disagree, to replace obama with someone like him would be a good thing if the person was a Republican?

Put it this way...to re-elect Obama guarantees us the same push toward radical socialism, appeasement of Muslims and weakening of our military. To change in 2012 doesn't!

Liberalism is a mental illness.

If you replace him with someone like him would that also guarantee what you are against?

But but but ...

You don't have the infrastructure to run a national write-in campaign. So clearly, you aren't really running to win. You're in to sell books! Or pizza.

Besides, aren't you going to wither on the vine quicker that the Cain campaign once the liberal Democratics start exposing every romantic interlude you ever had?

The sheep are lining up to speak already, man!

The Republican would answer to a different set of people. Even if he had similarities to Obama he wouldn't be feel any allegiance to progressives the way Obama does. He would have a different pool of supreme court possibilities which he considered when that time came. He would listen to different financial advisors. Etc.

Even if he were "like" Obama, there would be significant differences which came with him being Republican, so yes. It would be a good thing to replace Obama with Obama-lite even if the only difference the armchair pundits of the world recognized was the letter by the name.

Who does a RINO answer to? George Bush was elected twice and then we got obama I don't care care what color of jersey he's wearing if he's a skunk he will still smell like one no matter if he has a D or an R.

Republicans' feelings are pretty simple really. If we don't defeat this clown and get control of the Senate to boot, how the hell will we ever get on to breathing our beloved dirty air and drinking our beloved dirty water? We've no choice but to sink this jerk and everything he stands for.

Yes obama needs to go but he needs to be replaced with someone who has a sound policy not the shit he was pushing for the last three years.

I guess it all comes down to what you consider "significant differences". For those of us whose values and priorities are ignored by both parties equally, the distinction between D and R is moot. It's far more important, for me, to support the libertarian cause than to fret over the minor differencs between Obama/Bush/Gingrich/Romney/etc.

at least you trotted out tired old hyperbole that's been shown to be an utter lie for the last 45 years or so.

The issue remains the same. If we do not elect someone who is the philosophical, ideological, moral and political policy polar opposite of P-BO and the useful idiot GOP leadership, no matter WHO we elect, the result will be the same, just the 'time of arrival' will change for the destination will not have changed. Why is this so difficult to see? It's also why you see the Beltway Bandits so freaked out with people like Palin, Bachmann, Paul and Cain (although 2 aren't running). They signify the apocalypse for their way of life if they actually DO the "crazy" things they say. Don't forget, 7 of the 10 richest counties in the US are in the DC area. That's a lot of lives that could be decimated in a short 4 years, and long past due having occurred. Like the "Big One" that's long overdue.
