If we saw each other at church on Sunday

Or at the mall, chances are we'd have a friendly, civil conversation. So why is it on here everyone is empowered to call each other a blankedy blank blank bleep?

Good luck getting everyone here to church. I'll be praying for you.
This is actually what keeps me up at night worrying.

I wish everyone would go to church.

Then we would only need to worry about the usual hypocrisy.

People would not likely murder or steal from each other then.

Rapes would go down too.

We would still need to burn all the moosleem mosques though, because they have this 72 virgins thing for suicide bombers. So we would still need to root them out. But if they all started coming to church then I would start trusting them. Meanwhile you have no idea which of them has gone off the deep end.

You know what is funny is the reality I would still tell many on here they're living proof why I support abortion...

I am that much of a rotten asshole, and when someone describe themself that way what Chances are there will I be civil to others!?!

Oh, and I am aware the reality some of you would be offended and want to whip my mental midget ass but still I enjoy the shock value rather than the civil boring routine of life...
I support Constitutional law.

Therefore I do not support unconstitutional law.

Therefore if someone like Ray Nagin tried to take my guns without a warrant signed by a judge, or even with a warrant that was unjustified, he would die trying.

On-demand abortion is the law, albeit bad law, it is still the law.

So I support on-demand abortion in all 50 states even though it sounds unconstitutional to me.

Roe v. Wade is bad law. But until the Congress gets off their lazy azz and proposes a constitutional amendment to change it, then it is still the law.

There are some here who are so consistently nasty and hateful that it's probably reasonable to wonder what kind of emotional benefit they get from being that way.
"If you can't take the heat then don't go into the kitchen."

Jesse Jackson.

What happens here would probably land every last one of us in jail if it were to take place in real life. It would be considered a public disturbance if it were at the mall or anywhere else where people choose to gather. Would it be worth going to jail over?

God bless you always!!!

I hear you. I think a person can be bluntly honest and be civil. There are others who believe that they need to be rude to be convincing. I disagree with that.
Normally I would scold you for being a troll and due to your very recent joining date I would add you to my ignore list.

But you are clearly a MOD and you have gone incognito.

You might even be the top admin or even the owner.

In real life most people are passive-aggressive and so if they don't like somebody they just clam up and stop speaking to them.

Here, the computer and the screen are everybody's cocoon so they feel safe in letting their inner-child bastard/b!tch come through the keyboard.

That's the main difference.

Nah, I'm just a punk who thinks we can do better as a culture. If we start here, in the most anonymous of forums, one interaction at a time, maybe we can model for each other the way we really want our country to be. Honest disagreements don't need to be disagreeable.

Moving towards socialism is not doing better. I'm not interested in being modeled that way and if I ever run across an honest liberal I may pass out from the shock.

Perhaps you are reading more into my post than is there. I am in no way shape or form in favor of socialism. I am however in favor of civility. Other than the fact that the two words are slightly alliterative, they are in fact two different concepts. My only point is if we all want to be honest with each other and disagree, we can do so, as that famous non Socialist Ronald Reagan said, without being disagreeable. Rudeness isn't a social philosophy. It's simply rudeness. Many people are conflating rudeness with their first amendment rights, with their political beliefs, etc. Rudeness is how you communicate, not what you communicate. A lot of people are missing that distinction these days.

Bingo! You just made my point. Socialist Ronald Reagan? Yep, you're a lefty. Don't try to pretend otherwise.

Did you miss the word "non" in front of that? You are so keen for a fight with everyone you don't recognize when someone is agreeing with you. Sheesh.

Yep, I miss the non word. Very odd way to put it. Non socialist Reagan? I don't get it. And rudeness IS a right. However some people also believe they have the right to not be offended.
