Getting away from fossil fuel as a long term goal has been stated many times by the president. He has also spoke on the need to increase oil production and in fact it is a key component of his energy plan. Furthermore, it's not just rhetoric. U.S. oil production and drilling have risen under President Obama. Critics claim that this is all on private land. However, according to the latest data from the Interior Department's Office of Natural Resources Revenue, more oil is coming out of federal area lands under President Obama than under his predecessor.

American must end it's dependence on oil, but not in the near future. It will take decades and between now and then production will have to be increased until such time alternative sources can fill a significant part of our energy needs.

China has been stealing our intellectual property and technology forever. The reason why we have better technology is because we freedom, that sparks and encourages innovation.
