obama thinks that in his last term he will be able to strong arm republicans into submission. He has described it as the Grand Bargain. It was in his off the record interview with the Des Moines Register. That's the interview he tried so hard to suppress.

If obama ends up with a republican house and senate, they will cooperate in every investigation now pending and obama will have four years (if he lasts that long) of absolute misery. No grand bargain either.
