If the Communist Party of US thinks Pork Bill was a success then it must be

Perhaps direction

but the core for both parties has been the same for years

If you truly believe that, you're a idiot.

Speaking of immature

Oh wait, is that partisan of me?
:eusa_whistle:

Of course, one could argue that the core of the Democratic party has gotten more radical, more leftist since FDR.
Being the non-partisan that you are, this should not be hard for you to see

And you'd be an idiot for arguing that. Both parties are not nearly as Liberal as they were over 60 years ago. That includes the Republican Party too.

Parties change.

Yes and no.

Look at how the South voted 50 years ago and look at how it votes now.

I am talking about the basic core beliefs system- not the people's locations

Really, the core has not changed much for both parties since the time of FDR.
The approx. 30% for both parties stays the same with both parties fighting over the "independents"

Well, it is in the eye of the beholder, isn't now?
The thing that changes mostly is the core's control over either party.

Again one could argue that the Democrat's core is more radical since FDR, indeed the days of "tax cutting; voting against the civil rights act; military build up" Kennedy are gone. (to be replace with the types like Algore)

As a side note:
Your "need" to be the first and continue use of names - tells most of us what we need to know about you comrade

Recovery Act success stimulates the push for job creation
by: John Wojcik
February 18 2010

Reports released this week show that Republican claims that the stimulus was a failure are dead wrong and the labor movement is losing no time by demanding even more government spending on jobs to break the neck of the Great Recession.

"The fact is that the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act is still working," the AFL-CIO said in a statement late yesterday, "generating more than 2 million jobs and laying the foundation for future economic growth." The federation said the positive results indicate that the government must continue spending heavily to create millions of additional jobs.

In a report also issued yesterday, Ross Eisenberry, vice president of the Economic Policy Institute, tracked monthly job losses before and after the Recovery Act.

"With unemployment at 9.7 percent today, it’s hard to appreciate how much more damage the stimulus investments prevented," he said, adding, "Without the more than 2 million jobs generated by the Recovery Act, the unemployment rate would now exceed 11 percent."

Another indication that the recovery package is working, some economists say, is that the economy grew 5.7 percent last quarter – the largest gain in six years. These economists are saying the growth is largely due to the Recovery Act and that those who say President Obama’s stimulus plan didn’t work are just plain wrong.

"The fact is that the Recovery Act did work," declared EPI President Lawrence Mishel, "precisely as it was designed to work and it has helped to produce roughly 2 million jobs that wouldn’t exist if it hadn’t become law." …

One union leader said the Recovery Act impacted on much more than just the critical area of job creation, as essential as that is to an economic recovery. AFT President Randi Weingarten called the stimulus a "life preserver."

"Kids don’t get a second chance to get a good education. The Recovery Act was the help they needed, ensuring that schools continued to receive resources so that teachers could teach and students could learn."

What did Papa Obama say unemployment would only go up to?
Do they count the jobs in phantom districts ?

Funny, Papa Obama said the Pork Bill was going to put it around 8 percent

Now if someone would just tell the American People the Pork Bill was a success-

52% Say Obama Doesn't Deserve Second Term

A new CNN poll contains some troubling numbers for President Obama. Among Americans -- and those registered to vote -- 52% believe Obama does not deserve a second term, while 44% think he does. A paltry 4% don't have an opinion on the matter.

You do realize that with the reform act many of those people on umemployment were able to stay on it, past the usual six months? Helping them continue to support themselves, and their family.

One, they could have extended benefits even without a Pork Bill
Two, is it possible that extended benefits cause the unemployment to be higher longer
Three, when you factor in high rates of unemployment and U6, it becomes obvious that the Pork Bill did not work as intended

It could not have helped too much when you look at the U6 numbers

Democratic Underground

ACTUAL unemployment figure (U6) at 18% - 9.7%"official" number is just to make electeds look better.

If their $850 Billion "Stimulus" worked so great, why are they pushing for a new "Jobs Bill?" Just seems ludicrous to me. No true Conservative could vote Yea on this new "Jobs Bill" debacle. Hopefully Scott Brown will listen. I just heard he's waffling a bit on this new debacle. Time to clean house for sure. The Dems gotta go. Make 2010 count people.

The entire $850 billion stimulus has not been spent, and, it has worked. People are working, paying their mortgage, paying bills and less than half of the money appropriated has been used.
Libo, do you ever ask yourself why you post half-truths and slander everyone to the left of the far right? Of course not, that would require some insight and integrity.

Hate to be a "naysayer" on the left's hope for the Pork Bill but

Bush's May 03 tax cuts worked quicker, cost less and reduced unemployment more than Papa's Obama Pork Spending has in 6 months; 7 months, 8 months; 9 months; 10 months; 11 months -

funny how that works
