If socialism is so great, why has almost every country that tried it abandoned it?

Every decent place in the world has numerous social programs. Venezuela is an example of what happens when The People try to fight an entirely corrupt plutocracy by clawing back the ownership of the economy. No experiment in broad nationalization of resources has ever been allowed to develop. The capitalists of the world declare war on it every time even if the former leaders were monsters. Socialism fails because the rich want it fail.

Half the world used to be socialist, but now people in those countries have abandoned socialism and are now enjoying the fruits of the capitalist system.

Why should the United States convert to a system that's a proven failure?

Let's tell Bernie Sanders, Elizabeth Warren and AOC that if they like socialism so much, they can move to Cuba.
Every nation on Earth, including the US, is socialist to some degree.

Heres a fun fact: as much as you asshats like to cherry pick examples of failed socialist states like Venezuela, you should know that Venezuela has a private economy.

The US has LIMITED Socialism. The reason it works is because Capitalism is the greater focus. Once you start eliminating or substantially eroding the Middle Class and choosing corporate cronyism at the expense of small business, you are headed down the path of failed Socialism.

I look at these Democrat Presidential Candidates like Sanders, Warren, and Harris. They don’t speak of more paycheck in the pockets of the Middle Class. They don’t talk about small business, entrepreneurship and how the government can support them. Put these people in power and their “tax the wealthy” will necessarily result in less take-home pay for the Middle Class and corporate cronyism over small business.

Are you guys still unaware of how the Left uses the term "socialism"?

Still?

Canada, Australia, Germany and Norway are still there. They haven't gone anywhere. They're doing okay, and their wealth disparities are lower. I'd bet their consumption of anti-depressants is lower. They operate under a different equilibrium between capitalism and socialism.

At what point do you guys allow this to sink in? Will this EVER sink in?
.

Yeah their wealth disparities are lower for sure because the average person there makes considerably less than here. Their overall standard of living is that of a lower-middle class family at best, depending on where you live in the US. Sorry, but that is only attractive to those who live in shoeboxes now.

Boomers on both sides of the aisle generally don't know what actual socialism is. Younger generations do and they love it.

Socialism fails because the true 1 percent lick in the power and wealth and leave no room for economic opportunity. How many people flee Socialist countries for the ultimate capitalist economy vs. how many people flee from free market capitalism for socialism? Empirical data wins.

Socialism is NOT high corporate taxes and taxpayer funded trash collection.

Actual socialism is often confused with communism. It is the authoritarian left political system necessary to transition into rainbows and puppies actual communism: the classless society.

I wish when people start repetitive troll threads they would come up with something a little more original and educated.

Correct. That's not what the Left is after. They're after something like Canada, Australia, Germany and Norway. No matter what you're told.

Okay?

I already said that younger generations understand what socialism actually is, and they want it.

"The left" is following a plan that dates back almost a century formulated in Europe by true believers in communism. It will take time to be fully implemented.

I still can't tell what you think these folks really want.

I've tried to tell you.

Third world countries tend to have truer forms of socialism than first world countries.

It is not a coincidence that advocates for "free stuff" also want to tear down gender roles and terminate traditional western morality.

Every single country has forms of socialism with the entire country mostly supporting them.

When did Wall Street start advocating for that? Well, they have long supported terminating western morality when it comes to them.

Extremist capitalism is a blight on the world. Traditionalist conservatives have been brainwashed to accept it just as bleeding heart liberals have been brainwashed to accept the socialist model.

"Extreme capitalism" is not capitalism and it's wrong to even call it that. The government took control of the auto companies for awhile. That is not "extreme capitalism" that is socialism but the vast majority of people argued "it had to be done". Many like the OP is simply ignorant concerning what they speak.
