Neccessity is the mother of invention. If you've had a modern army roll across your borders, you learn to secure it against that happening again. Not since the British has the US faced a military invasion of it's borders so we have little interest in securing them. If we had that cultural memory, we'd secure our borders. Kind of moot in the modern age though. Can fly across a border n all.

We could do a lot more to secure our border but there isn't the will in Washington. Most illegal aliens come here seeking work or to give birth on our soil so they can tap into our welfare coffers. Remove those incentives and it would cut back on most illegal immigration. However terrorists and criminals aren't seeking either of those two things so unless our government wakes up and realizes how dangerous it is not to fully secure our borders we will have another 9/11 on our hands. And by the way, there is no such thing as an "undocumented". They are illegal aliens.

WTH? The U.S isn't Saudi Arabia. There are foreigners that hate our country and would love an open border so they can destroy us. Not to mention that no country can have open borders that offers welfare to anyone who can make their way here and also steal jobs and resources from the rightful citizens of said country.
