Probably his biggest fundraising edge was that he was the favorite to win the nomination, and contributors like to give to people they think are going to win. As far as I can tell, we haven't had another non-incumbent who was seen as such a strong candidate from the time he accepted the nomination, so it doesn't surprise me that he also raised the most funds.

Millions of average Americans sending in small amounts. You can't blame it on business when the Chamber of Commerce gives to Republicans 9 to 1 over Democrats.

You know big business is on the side of the Republicans. Why? Because Republicans are slashing education and social services in state after state to give tax breaks, subsidies and incentives to corporations.
