If republicans are so bad............

Sarah Palin and her husband belong to the Alaska Independence Party that wants to suceed from the USA.

Who despises America?

1. No. Even the leader of the AIP acknowledges that Palin was never one of theirs.

2. Succeed means to acomplish. Secede means to break union. Thanks for being smarterer than use dumb, redneck, racist, gun-clinging fundie hicks.

Now off to Starbucks with you.

Same reason Chavez gets re-elected in Venezuela. He carries out a terrible foreign policy (which harms his country), and he sucks at diplomacy, but his rhetoric resonates with the public...blah-blah-blah...
Actually Chavez makes laws that all but make it illegal for people to vote for other parties...kinda like the dems wanting to make it legal for unions to force workers to cast public rather than private ballots.

The rest is just another way of rambling with the same old "the American people are too stupid to vote for their own good."

The best part is: no matter how many times you tell a "progressive" how to stop making mistakes and how to win they will refuse to listen to you because they are smarterer than everybody else.

Secede.
And "succeed" has two cs.

I saw nothing in the AIP which indicates they despise America in any way, shape or form.

And I thought only Todd Palin belonged, back in the 80s. When he was, what, 25?

Anyway. Obviously you're an idiot..and yet you think yourself superior to the majority of Americans. And you still don't understand why the majority despises your ilk and won't vote you guys into the presidency?

:eusa_eh:

Because the Dems are out of touch with the populace, who see through their schtick.

The Dems think the majority of American people are STUPID, and are somehow being tricked into voting Republican because they just don't know any better. The fact is, the American people are smart, and see through the Dems, and the Dems are too fucking dumb to understand they need to change their approach and their stance. Americans recognize Dems for what they are: lying, elitist, liberal people who are unhappy with America and want to see it run into the dirt.

Your average American recognizes that, and doesn't relate.

Tell that to the dumb ass racist Union worker who voted for Bush because of God, Guns or Gays and his job went to Mexico.

The typical american voter is under informed. They are also lied to.

Until Bush & Co. they just usually seemed the lesser of the two evils.

Why did Billy win when he did? - Same reason - compared to Bob Dole, he was the lesser man (of two evils, that is).

-Joe

I think you're right.

The dems haven't exactly fielded firebreathing Dems to run for POTUS, have they?

Moron. That isn't the typical American voter, that's just the people you hang out with...and they're Dems, not Republicans.

To the extent Palin has a governing philosophy, it was shaped by her political mentor, former governor Wally Hickel. The 89-year-old Hickel is a member of the Alaska Independence Party, which espouses, among other things, greater autonomy or even separation from the United States. (Husband Todd Palin is not a member of the party now, but he was registered as an AIP voter at different periods of his life totaling seven years.

You want to talk about Michelle Obama saying this is the first time she's been proud to be an American? Let's ask Palin's husband when was the first time he wanted to seceed from the USA? Does he hate America? I think he should be put on the watch list.

"Under informed" voter indeed:

NAFTA was initially pursued by politicians in the United States and Canada supportive of free trade, led by Canadian Prime Minister Brian Mulroney, U.S. President George H. W. Bush, and the Mexican President Carlos Salinas de Gortari. The three countries signed NAFTA in December 1992, subject to ratification by the legislatures of the three countries. There was considerable opposition in all three countries. In the United States, NAFTA was able to secure passage after Bill Clinton made its passage a major legislative priority in 1993. Since the agreement had been signed by Bush under his fast-track prerogative, Clinton did not alter the original agreement, but complemented it with the aforementioned NAAEC and NAALC. After intense political debate and the negotiation of these side agreements, the U.S. House of Representatives passed NAFTA on November 17, 1993, by 234-200 vote (132 Republicans and 102 Democrats voting in favor; 43 Republicans, 156 Democrats, and 1 independent against),[6] and the U.S. Senate passed it on the last day of its 1993 session, November 20, 1993, by 61-38 vote (34 Republicans and 27 Democrats voting in favor; 10 Republicans and 28 Democrats against, with 1 Democrat opponent not voting -- Sen. Byron Dorgan (D-ND), an ardent foe of NAFTA, missed the vote because of an illness in his family).[7]

NAFTA was championed by a democrat president and passed the democrat controlled House and senate.

Under informed voter strikes again.

But Obama is not influenced by his mentors.. Ayers, Wright, etc?

I'll be waiting for the credible references to show where Palin's husband had this stance you attribute to him... there has been nothing at all to support this AT ALL

But this is oh so typical for you and your ilk

Greater autonomy?

oh noes!!!!

Hickel is no Jeremiah Wright or Bill Ayers or Saul Alinsky.

And Todd's affiliation dates back to 1986. Little O's friends are here and now...as well as that shrew he's married to.

Keep swinging. You aren't nearly as principled as you like to believe. You're tiny-minded bigot who hates and fears anyone not bowing down to your ideology of envy and fear.

What an utter cop out! That's all you got? So you agree/conceed the GOP stole the last two elections. You're fuckin A right we are sore about it. Why aren't you? What if the GOP ends up being horrible at governing and you want to change your vote to Democrat or 3rd party? Doesn't matter who you vote for because THEY have decided for you that they win.

That should bother you. As a patriot, american, person who believes in the constitution.

You should not be ignoring that the last two elections have been rigged.

Diebold, ES&S and Sequoia voting machines are owned by loyal Bush donors.

No wonder politicians are corrupt. What kind of politicians does a greedy ignorant society expect? Garbage in, garbage out. Corrupt politicians don't come from outer space. They come from American homes, schools, churches, families, parents. Politicians don't suck, people suck. Put that on a bumper sticker. GEORGE CARLIN

LOL.

I do not believe that elections were stolen. I was just playing to your pathetic views on it.

HAHAHAHA!

How do i know you'd crucify Robert Byrd for his KLAN membership... yet the Palin's get a free pass for joining an organization HELLBENT on removing Alaska from the UNION?

nice.

Say, LaRaza just called and they want your support too.

The elections weren't stolen. The Dems were prevented from stealing the elections themselves, and they're pissed off because they thought they could beat the system, and people would be too stupid to know what they were doing.

1) Paling was never a member:

Palin was never a member of the Alaskan Independence Party – which calls for a vote on whether Alaska should secede from the union or remain a state – despite mistaken reports to the contrary. But her husband was a member for years, and she attended at least one party convention, as mayor of the town in which it was held.

The party's chair originally told reporters that Palin had been a member, but the official later retracted that statement. Chairwoman Lynette Clark told the New York Times that false information had been given to her by another member of the party after she first told the Times and others that Palin joined the AIP in 1994. Clark issued an apology on the AIP Web site.

The director of Alaska’s Division of Elections, Gail Fenumiai, confirms that Palin registered to vote in the state for the first time in May 1982 as a Republican and hasn’t changed her party affiliation since. She also told FactCheck.org that Palin’s husband, Todd, was registered with AIP from October 1995 to July 2000, and again from September 2000 until July 2002. (He has since been registered as undeclared.) However, the AIP says Todd Palin "never participated in any party activities aside from attending a convention in Wasilla at one time."

There is still some dispute as to whether Sarah Palin also attended the AIP’s 1994 convention, held in Wasilla. Clark and another AIP official told ABC News’ Jake Tapper that both Palins were there. Palin was elected mayor of Wasilla two years later. The McCain campaign says Sarah Palin went to the 2000 AIP convention, also held in Wasilla, “as a courtesy since she was mayor.” As governor, Palin sent a video message to the 2008 convention, which is available on YouTube, and the AIP says she attended in 2006 when she was campaigning.
FactCheck.org: Sliming Palin

2) How you can compare the AIP (who is legally in error if it thinks it can secede without a dissolution of the US Constitution) with the KKK which not only wants to secede but conducts acts of domestic racially-motivated terrorism is intellectual dishonesty at it height.

Or perhaps an absolue lack of intellect to begin with.

3) Maybe you should take your indignation about La Raza and focus it where it needs to be focused:

RealClearPolitics - Articles - Obama's Remarks to La Raza

Or will you sputter away your earlier moral outrage and look the other way because--hey--it's Little O.

First, you said Sarah Palin was a member.

Now you move the goal posts and feel outraged that her husband registered with the AIP.

BTW - Tell us again about La Raza and how currying its political favor is BA-A-A-A-AD.

They know she was never a member. It's been proven on this board repeatedly. CNN had a fact check.org person on the other night, dispelling all these ridiculous lies (most of which originated from a lefty blogger, who was interviewed and stated that he posted about 2 dozen fake "quotes", allegedly from Sarah Palin.)

It's just the lefty lie machine. They stupidly believe anything their handlers throw them, and they expect the rest of America to be equally stupid. They lie, are caught lying, and yet they keep on telling the lie.

What fuckwads.

Why do Republicans win elections? Because Democrats have leftwing loonies like bobo the clown spewing complete bullshit all day long in failed attempts to convince people to vote for them. He keeps linking articles from Thom Hartmann, who may just be more persuaded by conspiracy theories than bobo is.

1. she attended the conference. THAT is not in dispute. Now, tell me how evil Robert Byrd is for having gone to a klan rally.

2. And no, I didn't move any posts. SHE DID interact with this group. Her husband was a member. THESE are the facts.

3. And yes, when a candidate for our highest office is a member or married to a member of LaRaza you'll see similar consternation. As it is, pandering to a crowd and joining the fucking club are two MASSIVELY different beasts.

The media was de-regulated in 1996-07 and guys like Rupert Murdoc and all the other rich and powerful corporate masters bought up all of the news channels. Didn't you know that? So now rich republicans set the agenda on cable news.

Former FCC chairman: Deregulation is a right-wing power grab
Reed Hundt says Monday's historic vote was "the culmination of the attack by the right on the media."

In a historic session on the future of the U.S. news media, Republicans on the Federal Communications Commission voted Monday to ease long-standing rules so that more and more of the nation's newspapers and broadcast stations can be concentrated in fewer and fewer hands.

So now you can show me some slanted survey from UCLA that says the media is more liberal. HA!!! Why would the rich and powerful allow it now that they own the media?

GE, Walt Disney, Liberty Media, Sony, Thomson-Reuters, AOL, AT&T, VIACOM, Bertelsmann.

What bothers me is that most of you people don't know this stuff. Some of you do and you are so brainwashed that you don't care because you think the dems/gays/liberals are worse than the rich taking over this country, but you are dead wrong. And when you finally wake up, it'll be too late. When your job is finally sent oveseas or your kid gets drafted into McCain's war, don't come crying to us. We've been warning you for 20 years now.

Better Murdoch than Turner is all I can say. The last thing we need is a commie who thinks everyone ELSE should be poor, controlling the airwaves.

Which is what he did for years. Now it's opened up a little, and coverage is 1000 times better because of it.

Competition is a GOOD thing, little Grasshopper.
