Sorry Jake, but that's not true. There are very violent inner struggles between differe4nt sector of Heredim in Jerusalem. Sometimes it's hard to grasp Jews are capable of this.

Religion cannot save an individual or make anyone good. Only God is good. What biblical Christianity teaches is that when a person accepts Christ as his Savior, that person begins a journey where the Holy Spirit starts conforming that individual into the likeness of the Lord Jesus Christ. That individual begins to see things through the eyes of God and not as an outsider looking inward.

People who try to work their way into heaven are attempting to reach it under their own control and fail. Failure leads to discontent and confrontation. Such are the things that case strife.

Anytime 'extremist' and 'fundamentalist' is applied to religion, bad things happen.

Religion isn't supposes to teach men how to be good. The purpose of religion is to teach mankind that each individual and we, as a whole, are loved by God, that our sins are forgiven. Religion is meant to teach people they are loved, and encourage them to respond to this love.

On the other hand, look at people in search of power and wealth. How are they snatching power? By descending with pain and death. When good people cry, "You can't do this!" the answer is, "God said we could."

This seems to leave people speechless when the response should be, "No, God did not. Greed comes from below, not above, from evil, not love. We will stand against evil, and as you have shown yourselves to be evil, we will rise against you."

The problem, of course, is that many who are currently rich and powerful, are also evil. Sometimes I think what the rest of us are watching is evil being pitted against evil, and we are waiting to see which evil will triumph over the other.
