If monkeys evolved into men, where's the transitional half-man half-monkey?

That species definitely doesn't exist. We either have unintelligent animals or intelligent men. Where's the creature that is half as smart as us? Doesn't exist.

OK, then what is the creature that evolved into men?

The probable answer is that homo sapiens exterminated all other species that approached our level of intelligence.

But what does that say about us?

It says that in order to be survivors, one must be cruel and without mercy for those who compete with us for resources.

Prove it. It is one thing to make an assertion, another to back it up. Define intelligence. Set the parameters.

The old theories of evolution didn't take into account the likely "rapid transistions" that can occur because of the randomness of genetic modification. Species under enviro or habitat stress can transition quite rapidly. Cosmic ray storms for example could make transitory fossils almost impossible to find.

Since Darwin had no CLUE about the actual genetic mutation mechanism, it was falsely believed that evolution was a painfully slow and methodical process. But since the 20th century, it's likely that evolution works on the "fits and starts" time scale. STILL orders of millenia, but with shallower fossil evidence. Which could also explain many of the rapid extinction/re-creation cycles that ARE in the fossil record..

Intelligence is a poor indicator. Since some outliers on the LOW END of the hominid IQ distribution overlap with other "lesser" species. :coffee:

Humans did not evolve from monkeys.

Are elephants or dolphins intelligent enough to be considered sentient. Neither of these have a written language, or build structur

Monkeys it didn't evolve into men.

The thread premise is predicated on ignorance.
I've noticed that you are not capable of participating in a discussion without insulting people. That inability to be amicable is a form of ignorance too.

Not sure what it says about us, but it says you have a very vivid imagination.

What do elephants or dolphins have to do with the evolution of man?
