if all people were created equally by god, then how can one set be his "chosen ones"?

Any group can say that they are God's chosen ones...and that makes them God's chosen ones.

For example, I am God's chosen one.

See...I am now God's chosen one.

It's as simple as that.

Abraham Foxman considers it anti-Semitic to even ask such a question.

The answer is that we are all equal, but Jews are extra-special and should not be questioned, ever. Only they have ever suffered. All other groups have only ever tortured and maimed the poor innocent Jews, and never for any good reason. Always because they were just jealous of the Jews.

Even if you question any of this in your head, you are an anti-Semite.

Obvious, if all people were created equally by god, they cannot.

Do you believe that all people are created equally?

That statement was political hyperbole and was not meant to be a description of the human condition.

Or are you talking about religious beliefs?

Debating the merit of people's religious beliefs is a waste of time.

They are not based on fact or logic so one cannot have a debate about FAITH that serves any purpose.

Its because of what they did in the first earth age. People do not understand that there was an earth age before this one. Jeremiah 1:5 Before I formed thee in the belly, I KNEW THEE; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and ordained thee a prophet unto the nations. And the part that Jesus just came for the Jews, Incorrect! The most quoted verse of the bible John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten son, that WHOSOEVER believeth in him should NOT PERISH, but have ever lasting life.God told peter not to call any man common, when he lowered the sheet filled with unclean food and told peter to eat, did peter eat, no he did not, because God was teaching him not about unclean food, he just used it as an example.

Actually--all men are not created equal.

We do differ in traits, abilities and potential. The idea is that all men are equal in terms of the eyes of the Law. The law of the state, that is, and not the religious concept of the law.

Of course, some will not believe this. They instead choose to believe that our government follows some religious text or beholden to some religious concept. Unfortunately, if this was true, then there would be no need for new laws or governmental constructs since that particular religion will hold sway over justice and dictate what is right or wrong, allowed or disallowed. But it is not a particular religion that perform this task, but the individual citizen from diverse backgrounds and faiths that come together to create such a system.

In other words, a pluristic government is not a religious backed entity. The theology of a religion is not the basis of our state. Instead, it is the will of the people that make and maintain the law. A will that maybe allowed by a God, but is not the same as that God.

Strange how that chosen set are the ones who wrote that down in the bible dontcha think?

that actually isn't strange at all.

i understand the point your making, the jews are the chosen ones because they're the ones that came up with the idea first. sneaky jews.

but if there was a god who did have a chosen people, the story isn't strange at all.

Yet another thread created for the express purpose not of divining information, but to bash those who have faith in God.

Lovely.

Which faith is the first to embrace monotheism? Chosen by God. One, indivisible God.

How about the Egyptians then. Under the rein of Akhenaten, the Egyptians were the first to expose the idea of the one god, the Aten.

Evolution was shot down many years ago. For it to be true, it would still have to be going on.

Why is it not still going on? Let's say you first thought that gays are sinful and will burn in hell. Then let's say that after discussing it with others, you decide that no, gays are not bad. Your position would have "evolved" from a hateful bigot to a nicer person.

Is evoloution still going on?

Visit an old home/castle and be prepared to bump your head on the doorways.
How small are some of those suits of armor.

Let's go to a service worshiping Aten then. Or is that faith extinct? Judaism has endured for thousands of years under monotheism and its still going.

Physical size is due to diet and other health considerations. Evolution shows different characteristics within a species. If the medieval jaw or metacarpal or brain pan showed a distinct difference, we might say that there is proof of evolution in recent times. But the difference between say Neanderthal and Homo Sapien is more than what diet and health can make.
