Idiots

Hilarious is all the Republicans on this site who say, "Republicans no longer hate gay people. We are a "big tent" party".

Course, they say the same thing about blacks, Hispanics, Muslims, atheists and every other minority.

Hellooooo, knock knock, the Republican Party is 90% white for a reason.

get some new material Dean......next thing i know you will be saying Republicans HATE Education and want to END it....

I thought republicans claimed that gay marriage was a states rights issue. Why are they making it a federal mandate?
Because a law cannot be removed by a Presidential mandate, that's why.

They're merely taking away usurped power by Obama administration vendetta against American conservatives.

Someone has to stand up for 80% of the American people. Go, Congressional conservatives! :)

Yea, because equal rights for 5% of the American people are going to destroy the country.

Why, just gays getting married will destroy 50% of all heterosexual marriages. Everyone knows that.

so why did it fail in the very liberal placed called California, twice Dean?....

You better check the history books becki. Democrats are the party of racism. Al Gore's father senator Gore was a segregationist. The late long serving democrat senator Robert Byrd was a KKK recruiter. If you want to hang your hats on the sodomy platform this fall go ahead.
and Dean hates White people.....

Save a few... nobody gives a fuck about gay marriage. It is a diversion to keep you from talking about 40,000,000+ unemployed, inflation, $4 gas, housing markets in the shitter, 1/6 of all Americans on public assistance, $16,000,000,000,000 debt, massive deficits, declining standing around the globe, feckless foreign policy, gutless leadership, etc.

Many, many people do care. Just because there are much more pressing matters at hand does not mean nobody cares.

Well, we'd need to do some serious digging to have that discussion, but here's what I found in my home state.

GOP 'reform' bills
A couple of the big ones Republicans seek in education and taxation would appear to have little chance of getting a gubernatorial signature no matter what Republicans would give Dayton in return.

Start with last in, first out (LIFO) rules for teachers. Currently, state law requires that school districts facing cuts must use seniority as the guideline for laying off teachers. This is the sort of issue that Republicans see as ripe for campaign literature, a “reform” they want to pass.

On repeated occasions, including in his State of the State address, Dayton laid out his approach. Noting that he worked with Republicans on education reform last session, the governor said that it’s time now to “work with” teachers on future education reforms. Despite support from at least a handful of DFL supporters for ending LIFO, Dayton almost certainly will veto the measure.

The other “reform” Republican legislators, especially in the Senate, say they urgently want is to pass a tax bill that would begin the process of phasing out business property taxes. This is “a jobs bill,” says Sen. Julianne Ortman, the Taxes Committee chair who has become more and more prominent as other GOP leaders have faded into the background.

She argues that phasing out of the tax would give Minnesota businesses more stability and more cash and, in turn, allow them to expand and add jobs.

But Senate Minority Leader Tom Bakk says there’s “no chance” the governor would sign such a bill. The governor, Bakk says, has repeatedly told him that he’s not going to sign a bill that would add to the state’s financial woes.

That’s because budget projections still indicate that the 2013 Legislature will have to deal with a deficit that could reach $1 billion. If this business property tax phaseout bill became law, it would add nearly another $100 million to that problem in the first year.

By 2025, the year the GOP’s proposed phaseout would be complete, the cost to the state would be $7 billion, according to Wayne Cox of Minnesota Citizens for Tax Justice, a union-supported organization.

Republicans argue that bustling business in the state would more than make up for that loss.

Marriage is a union between persons of the opposite sex. 5% of the people cannot boss the other 95% around.

The other 95% can still marry members of the opposite sex.

The other 5% can still marry members of the opposite sex.

I guess 100% are being treated exactly the same.

They could have done a lot better on the total cost of the bill. But yes the Same Sex Marriage being banned in on post chapels is appropriate. No way should a military chaplain be force to marry two people of the same sex when it is more than likely against their religion. And all Chaplains are ordained by some religion or another.....

But what about if these Chaplain's belong to a religion that is okay with Same Sex Marriage?

How about we get the Department of Defense out of the religion business altogether? That seems like a plan. Giving someone a commission because he knows a lot about Bronze Age Fairy stories seems like a bad idea.

I don't care if gays want to get married. And guess what? They can.

Chaplains provide more service to the soldiers, sailors, Air men, and marines than you will ever dream about asshole..........

Well, not really.

What did they provide. A bunch of moralism and guilt and fairy stories.

I provided them usable equipment, clean clothes and TA-50 gear, and made sure they had the operation supplies they needed for the feild.

In short, I provided something kind of concrete...

well Dean HAS made this statement....Republicans HATE Education and want to END it....and when pressed on it he says...." by cutting the education budget....what are they doing?".....so i and i dont know how many others, showed him a link showing how 41 states have cut their education budgets, including here in California (26%),but he just ignores all that and just goes to yet another thread to spread more bullshit he cant back up.....cutting the budget does not mean you want to end it.....otherwise i guess more than just Republicans want to end it....

WASHINGTON — Wading into the gay marriage debate, the Republican-led House tacked a provision banning same-sex marriages at military chapels onto a sweeping defense bill that is now headed to the Senate.

Despite the high-octane public discussion over gay marriage that has intensified since President Obama announced his support for same-sex marriages, the issue has been one that Capitol Hill has largely sought to avoid. But the GOP majority led Congress into the issue by adding the same-sex marriage prohibitions to the defense bill.

The annual National Defense Authorization Act, approved 299 to 120 on Friday, is a traditionally bipartisan effort that can prove difficult for lawmakers to oppose. The bill includes a 1.7% annual pay raise for the troops but also is loaded with politically charged extras.

In passing the $642-billion measure, lawmakers broke the budget agreement Congress made last summer with the Obama administration — beefing up military spending $8 billion beyond the agreed-upon limit. The White House threatened a veto.

They want to keep shooting themselves in the foot, nothing anybody can do about it.

The names of those who tacked this on a defense appropriations bill should be made public. These widget brains need to be replaced.
