I had been a fan of sports entertainment since the 1970s.

Its like modern days of shakespeare and the roman colesium blended together.
there were lots of territories-

1.big time wrestling...detroit.chicago area.
2.AWA-minnesota and wisconsin.
3.wwwf(world wide wrestlimg federation)the northeast.
4.NWA/georgia championship wrestling(southeast)

Then,the boom of the 80s,these territories kicked ass.great dynamic performers,and storylines,and competitiveness.

There was a nice resurgance in the 90s,monday night wars,

"Pro" wrestling is going in the direction of the daytime soap operas, and for the same reasons................bad acting and crappy story lines.

Yes, my sons liked it for awhile. But, it went to far into shtick and not enough real wrestling. I think there could be a venue for something real but the it just got too stupid to even suspend your belief for an hour to watch it.

There have been attempts at starting REAL 'professional' wrestling, but it has never gotten enough funding/public interest to make it viable.

But hey, MMA is pretty entertaining.
