I Think We Are Doomed

I think we are doomed.

I think Obama is going to win and I think the USA is going to suffer in many painful ways. Oh sure, I like Obama. I think it is great that a black guy is going to be president. But the honeymoon is going to be short.

<snip>

We are doomed.

FWIW, when Bush won, after a long and bitter and contested fight, people on the left simply posted things like "welcome back to the dark ages, folks."

One man's doom is another man's victory, it seems.

The polls all showed the black population split very evenly between Hillary and Obama, and the total black population vote in the primaries was never individually released after the nomination. Next time before you make a radical claim like that, do your homework.
Either prove it with a link or admit that you lie.

Uh -he's right. You are wrong. Your first stupid sentence already means you are a political idealogue and therefore someone who lacks critical thinking skills. Funny liberals get so out of whack about the only US news station that hasn't been accused of making up phony stories or had to fire reporters for making them up. Sure wish that were true of ABC, NBC, CBS, MSNBC, BBC, CNN and a whole slew of newspapers that are all leftwing too, don't you? So of course to you it somehow makes perfect sense to insist the one station not guilty of that is the untrustworthy one. ROFL Funny but the only time I miss out on hearing any of the news is when I only watch one of these other stations. Fox even has a segment now and then about which stories other stations are choosing not to inform people about or the vital information they have omitted that changes the story entirely. Very effective.

Ever read any REAL history books and deep analysis of past Presidents' policies and the short and long term consequences of those policies by serious historians instead of some politically biased editorial written by another liberal idealogue whacko hoping ignorant suckers like you are willing to buy into it without question? Of course not -that would actually require WORK on your part.

I had to endure Carter as President so it is impossible to try and hoodwink me about either Carter or Reagan and insist we must all adopt your phony political re-write bs as reality. I had to live with Carter as President. And its obvious you didn't or you wouldn't write such blathering. No one I know who lived under Carter would agree with your "intellectual" opinion here. I know EXACTLY what he did since I had to live with it firsthand. And he totally deserves his low place in history.

Carter was in way over his head, he was made a fool of as a result of his foreign policies time and again. Islamofascist terrorism took its first major big leap under this guy who never had a clue what he was dealing with. And he remains an embarassment to this country by defying the requests of one President after another to butt out and pretending to be this all-wise statesman hoping it will change his disastrous legacy which he fully earned. He is no statesman and his own book reveals he still has no real understanding of foreign policy where he still keeps sticking his unwanted nose. There is a reason we threw him OUT after one term. There is a reason that Presidential historians list Reagan as a near-great President and list Carter among the very worst Presidents. HE WAS. His economic policies (which Obama is promising to inflict on us again) resulted in massive misery on a scale in this country that I have never seen since and hoped to never experience again. But fully expect to again under Obama since a re-run of Carter's failed policies is the "change" he thinks we all need. Yech.

Carter was THE single worst President in my life and no President in my lifetime is even a close second to it. But apparently Obama is hoping to join him there.
Dam good post, if he was a nail and YOU were the hammer, that'd be "hitting the nail on the head"

I had it in November 2000.

Under Clinton, 23 million new jobs, only 8% in gov't sector. Under Bush, just 3 million new jobs, 31% in gov't sector. So 21 million private sector jobs under Clinton vs. 2 million under Bush, surprised a Republican could support the latter.

Under Clinton, 30% increase in Fed spending, under Bush 61%. I'm all for gov't cuts and private sector job growth, but it seems the Republicans aren't anymore.

Half the nation felt doomed in 2000. Many of us have been living under a cloud for eight years. Biting our tongues for most of that. Clenching our jaws tight as liberty after liberty was eroded and the other half of the country seemed to be completely oblivious.

There is a democratic bumper sticker that was out a few years ago that read "that's OK I wasn't using my liberties anyway" and a conservative friend of mine had *no idea* what it meant.

It's about FISA, as one example.

Conservatives don't (seem to) understand how the bush years gutted the constitution.

Personally I feel like the cloud is about to lift.

It's interesting that perceptions are so opposed, especially given how similar all politicians are compared to society at large.

Obama was defeated by a nine-point margin in last week’s Pennsylvania primary after losing the support of white voters by 63% to 37%. He won 90% of black voters.

...

Ashley Rozier, a 50-year-old African-American community health worker, said he had been “ridiculed and persecuted” by black people for supporting her. “It’s unbelievable how we accuse other people of being prejudiced while we’re doing the same,” he said.

Carter won 6 states in his re-election bid, couldn't even hold onto Massachusetts. He was in a class of his own when it came to indecisiveness and misdirection. Even the abysmal Bush Sr. won 18 states in his re-election effort.

It is the mentality of people like yourself that cause riots. Think about what you have said ... and pray that you are wrong and not just trying to incite and recruit fellow "rioter's". You can call people "assholes" if you wish ... but take a look in the mirror and you will see a big asshole looking back at yourself.

What group do you belong to? The KKK or are you just a "skinhead" wannabee? :eusa_eh:
:cuckoo:
The one that mentions racism or implies racist accusations are generally by rule of thumb, a self righteous racist themselves..ASSHOLE! take alook in your own dam mirror...wth gives you the right to judge someone...now STFU! Always an asss in the crowd that stinks up the dam place...

Obama will be quite a scary commodity that society will have to deal with. I think the problem isn't in what he'll get done, but rather what he'll let others do. There will be some really crappy stuff that he lets slide so that he can be a good boy for the Democratic elite. People complain about Bush, and he has some major blunders, but Obama wont be better. Just different!

If he wanted to cowtow to the democratic elite he sure as hell wouldn't have voted to allow warrantless wiretapping.

obama won't have the budget flexibility to match Bush's socialism, nothing capitalistic about medicare drug, no child left behind, and increasing fed spending twice as fast as Clinton did

After the election who knows???? Im a Drag Racer and soaring fuel prices are a freaking thorn in my side!?!?!
