I think Barney Frank is on to something...

I just wonder how much Barry Hussein knew about all of this. Time will tell. This could be his Waterloo.

nah....dems can get their dicks sucked in the oval office on company time by an employee and not be charged with sexual harrasment.....there is no way this is touching dark bush.....

Are they getting the bonuses?
Did they do it the legal way that wont get it tied up in the courts for years?
Now go look at the vote totals and you will see who voted against it.

ya they legal way ... pass a law telling aig to pass out bonuses in accordance with signed contracts....wich they do ....then pass a law after the fact taxing 90% of the bonus....

but who gives a fuck these people are rich and deserve it.....

betcha it goes all the way to scotus.....

The law did not tell them to give the bonuses so there is your first mistake.

By taxing it we recover it without breaking the contracts.

Its not about how much they have its about they dont deserve to be bailed out for fucking the company up with their leadership. If we didnt give AIG money they would not have goten the bounuses anyway.

the law clearly stated that bonus under contract were allowed to be paid....which means dodd timmy and dark bush wanted the contractual obligation honoured....and it was......

by passing a law target a specific group of people you are violating the us constituion....

how do you know the people that got the bonuses were the ones that fucked things....did it occur to you that maybe these were the ones that stopped it form getting worse.....

i completely agree....let them keep the money cut off any remaining funds and tell aig to go fuck itself......but something bigger is at play here......it is either sheer stupidity of a very shrewed economic play......i am going with stupidity.....

So you think "dark bush" is more constitutional than most of Congress? Because they just voted overwhelmingly to tax the bonuses.

Having looked into this over the past few days, what seems most likely to me is now that the Congress and Fed have experiences what was only simmering public outrage, they are going to go further to ground. The Transparency canard is going to slip quietly into the night.

Just a thought.

NO this mess was caused by a housing market that City County State and local governments have spent the last four decades painting into an ever tighter corner. You keep missing the important question lefties. which is why were the derivatives bad? Had the derivatives been sound then everyone would have made money like usual. They weren't sound why is that? Because the housing market was building far too many houses because of state federal and local regs that no one could afford hence we get the subprime mortgage collapse.

Read the headlines Dodds protected the bonus and Geitzer knew about it! The Democrats are going mad when they never read a bill that they signed onto.

And the taxing of AIG bonus is well unconstitutional via the equal protection clause! You can't single out one group of people for special or disproportionate treatment!

Geithner not only knew about it but admits it was his office that instructed Dodd to write the language in protecting the bonus'. They all lied the economy died.

Right, here comes another big cluster fuck waste of money in the court system.......

Why in the flying fuck would anyone vote for a cocksucker(literaly)
like Bawney Fawank. If this is one of the best Mass. has to offer God help us.

Because he's smart as a whip, that's why.

Who he has sex with isn't considered especially important to his constitutents.

How does someone who, less than a year go, said there was absolutely no problem with Fannie and Freddie and blocked plans to more heavily regulate it, get to be called 'smart as a whip' in your book?

Law for 90% tax rate could be hard to overturn
AIG employees who received bonuses may think they're being targeted. But courts have long been reluctant to strike down tax legislation, legal experts say.

Reporting from Washington -- The American International Group Inc. employees who received big bonuses and now could face a 90% tax bill may feel they have been singled out for unfair punishment by angry lawmakers.

But they are not likely to win a court challenge if the legislation becomes law, because courts have given legislatures broad leeway to raise and lower taxes without running afoul of the Constitution, legal experts said Thursday.

yeah, maybe in the 9th circus it would be hard, but anywhere else it should be seen as unconstitutional

Bullshit its an attempt to get tax payer dollars back from people who used the lack of laws to screw this country even after they ruined the system with their greed and incompedence.

They would have no money to pay themselves bonuses if they had not been bailed out.

and, had those tax payer dollars not been given to them (unconstitutionally) in the first place, this wouldnt be an issue, now would it?
the contract issue wouldnt have been an issue either

Truth you can't be this stupid. First the taxpayers didn't give them this money. Our government took it from us and gave it to them. Now they are simply trying to defelct the shear stupidty of doing so. Again I ask what is 165 million of 170 billion? This is not worth this asanine law and the ramigications of it.
