I really have to wonder about Obama.....

Congress has been at a complete standstill all year as far as making any attempt to conduct the nation's business by actually trying to pass laws.

Both sides recognize the futility, particularly when the president has been so invisible and so obviously lacking in leadership qualities. It has been months and months since he's sat down with party leaders. So why should anyone think sitting down with his Jobs Council would be of any more importance?

Does he really believe, should he for some unknown reason, win reelection that he can just waltz back into Congress, wave his magic dildo, and wondrous things will happen?

Does he honestly believe that more of the same is just what this country, ALL of it, wants and needs?

Particularly when it's more than possible the Senate will go Pub?

Facing that situation, might there not be a few moments in his only activity these days, campaigning endlessly, when he privately hopes he loses?

Where have you been? Surely you must know he is a Muslim (who hangs out in radical christian churches as cover), Kenyan born, communist, socialist, fascist, anti-american, who hates this country. So what else would you expect from this half-breed?

Did I mention he isn't even american?

Its amazing how simple some of you are.

It crystalizes Obama on the side of the students and parents who have taken out these loans to pay for education and it puts the GOP on the side of the lenders with their predatory lending practices.

Keep up with your "magic dildo" offensive though; it's a fitting tribute to just how far the Republican Party has fallen.

Guys...he's one of yours.

Odd statement from the side that is further down the slope.

You guys are intending to pay the bills at some point one would guess. The repubs are 30 years out for a balanced budget. Democrats refuse to address the topic.

I wonder if you will ever catch on?

And allowing some students to claim bankruptcy on some loans will add very little % to the national debt. The point is that other sorts of debt allow for bankruptcy; not student loans. The President was hoping to get Congress to do the work of the People and consider letting some of that debt be subject to bankruptcy regulations. The Congress seems to be on the side of the lenders thus far.

Congress has gone with the lenders because of serious abuses. I had someone tell me once they racked up 100k in debt and just filed to clear it. That was before the last change.

Student loans should be scrutinized like any other loan and look to see the merit in the studies to see if repayment can be made.

This whole thing is a scam, where does the money go? In the educators pocket. How many 7 digit salaries are at todays universities. Control that and you begin to control costs.
Another example of government in collusion to buy votes.

Londoner - I am not and never have been.......

fixated on the past as a mirror image of the future. Life doesn't work that way.

I am quite sure there will be parallels in some areas but times change, problems change, solutions change. We are not clones of the past and one solution doesn't necessarily fit all.

I don't expect miracles when dealing with politics or politicians. But I lean more heavily to the side of optimism than negativism.

Yeah, Obama is going to have two houses against him in the upcoming 4 years. It's a good thing he passed the stimulus and healthcare when he did. Nothing is going to get done of any substance from 2013-2019.

Which is why it's a good idea to focus on the other things Presidents do in this upcoming Presidential contest. The nomination of Supreme Court justices is going to be the only major things that get done for the upcoming 2-4 year period.

Oh... I don't think you're going to have to worry about poor little Barack having to deal with two houses of Congress against him next year. He'll be dusting off the furniture in Chicago. :eusa_whistle:

It's amazing how many people blame the lenders but don't ask themselves WHY college is so expensive. Tuition costs are skyrocketing, but somehow, some Wall Street "fat cat" is at fault? :eusa_eh:

Regardless of what you believe or what side you are on, it will be very interesting to see how this election turns out. Will voters stand by and remain split, leaving us with a split Congress? RCP has the generic congressional poll in a dead heat, meaning there is an outside chance that the Dems could gain more seats in the Senate and even take back the House while Obama is re-elected. Of course, the complete opposite could just as easily happen. We have massive gridlock in Congress, and both sides blame the other. The side you blame is the one you will end up voting against in the end.

So now CC agrees with Pelosi, the Senate is going GOP too? LOL! Yet, somehow Obama, the leader of the 'party' that controlled both houses when elected, is going to get a second term? Fantasy Land is being updated at DisneyWorld. True story.

I've always said that the GOP should disband it it can't win back the Senate this upcoming election.

For every abuse, there is actual benefit. Maybe we should shut down the Pentagon because some contractors abuse the process. No?

More scrutiny would be great in my view but as it stands right now, the debt follows you around practically forever. Still it's the fault of the student and the parent for accepting the loans in the first place in my view.

Politically, the GOP is again allowing itself to be shoved into a corner by the Obama administration. Remember the middle class tax holiday? They opposed it the first time; they got bitch slapped. The next time it came up, they quietly agreed. When will you guys learn?
