“I pledge to be of service to Barack Obama”,

Amazing.

Pledging to help people is now a bad thing.

Imagine if JFK were alive today and made that speech of his.

I am disgusted to the point of vomiting that people are pledging to help others.

HOW LEFTIST!

HOW UNAMERICAN!

That is scary. A bunch of little drones pledging to "be a servant to President Obama". I'm all for helping your fellow man but c'mon folks. Obama aint the next coming of Christ. He is a god damned socialist Democrat politician.
And befoire you bash me for being a "right wingnut" let me tell you that I think ALL of them should be thrown out of office. They all have lost touch with the regular people of this country.

The problem is with what I quoted from it. The putting of Obama's face on it all. I'm happy that my children's school will not be airing this.

I wish I could laugh at how silly some people are but.... My 19 year old son just took Obama's pledge and is now trying to save the children of Uganda. If anything happens to him, I will personally blame the President of the United States

Well, if it comforts you, the Republicans next platform can be to encourage people to be selfish bastards. Oh, wait....

i pledge to help people remain free, and fight those who would use force and cohersion to perpetuate their politics of slavery and the theft of free conscience. In essence, i pledge to resist failed liberal policies past, present and future, and the simpletons who concoct them.

Not really. :doubt:

The difference here is quick clear actually, this is propaganda to drum blind support for the president. The key is how they do it, making it look like that's exactly what the person they are supporting is doing without offering any real information, then repeating it over and over again. It's an old advertising technique, to get people to think about your product more when they see it they repeat the name and catch phrase as much as possible within the commercial spot, it's mild brain washing really. Then when you see it in the store you remember said catch phrase, reinforcing the products image. Catch phrases don't have to have an ounce of truth, they just have to be easy to recite. "I pledge" is very easy to recite, since we say it a lot as children it comes naturally almost.

I wish they put their annual salaries under their pictures like they did with the Wall Street guys.

That would be income. And since they are all in the entertainment biz, it's an optional thing to buy their product. They are not CEOs of publicly held companies.

You're a teacher?!?!

I pledge to vomit at the phony nature of this video.

Why couldn't these liberal actors and "stars" get behind Bush and pledge their support for him? Oh... I remember... They all had childish bumper stickers saying "Not My President"

People should look to do good no matter who is president. They sneak a lot of things in there like "health care" for seniors(really just socialism), stem cell research(as if that's a necessary step we need to take), and pledging to one man.

I think we should help the President make the right decisions no matter who is in office. Like it or not Barack Obama IS my president. I did not vote for him but I will support his office since he can make a huge difference by enforcing the will of the people. We need to make our voices heard in petitions and letters. That is how we can support him.

I don't agree with his agenda. but really his agenda is the agenda of the people who elected him. I afraid of that because I think it's one step closer to communism.

I don't like this sly propaganda being cleverly introduced to our kids in school. It is manipulative because of the star power to one point of view.

All kids want to be cool.

If they disagree with what the stars say they get labeled as uncool.

It's pretty manipulative.

My favorite bit of the video was the pledge to view himself as an "American" and not an "African American"
