how can a conservative defend:

-raising Fed spending 83% over 8 years, when your Dem predecessor raised it just 32%
-Expanding socialized medicine at a faster rate than any Pres since LBJ through Medicare Drug
-Sarbanes-Oxley regs on small business
-increasing government hiring over the rate of your Dem predecessor, while failing to address zero private sector job growth

W was by far the most fiscally liberal Pres we've had since Johnson

Obama would like to be, but it is getting stopped by a GOP congress. So if I'm fiscally conservative, seems I'm better off with a Dem pres getting gridlocked up with a combative congress than having a GOP pres spend money like there's no tomorrow.

Have you seen a true conservative defend this? Most conservatives that I know or read have never, ever, defended Bush's fiscal policies and spoke loudly about it DURING his administration as well as after. I think the reason most people overlook that is because they remember people defending Bush on Iraq and Afganistan and confuse that support with supporting ALL of Bush's policies...which is not, and has never been the case for most conservatives.

HAhahahahahahahahah

Where the hell were you when cons were calling Bush out ........neverland?

Different message board.

BTW, aren't we forgetting about Carter? I find it hard to believe you believed W more liberal than him.

Note the highlighted part.

I do not make a habit of engaging in political discussions with people who have no hooks in reality.

how come a libtard can never ask a conservative a question without being insulting? and you still think you want us to work with you and not against you??? keep on insulting. whydonchya?

Golly....You sound like one of them "libertarian" types. :eusa_whistle:

30% of republicans still though Bush was doing a great job in his last year as president.
And from the number/percentage of republicans that supported bush for most of his 2 terms I can conclude that few republicans are real conservatives.

Thanks for admitting its idiotic percieved social insults that drive the republicans instead of love of country.

more like an independent conservative, most libertarians like that flake Ron Paul, when clearly the best way to limit government is a Dem Pres + GOP Congress

GOP spent like Socialists under W, and then nominated McCain, who wanted to take out $400 billion of Medicare cuts from Obama's health bill, and make it even more expensive. Yet on the campaign trail complained about $3 million telescopes. Man needs a calculator.

We needed Reagan during cold war, but these big spending Republicans are useless.

then why nominate a fiscal liberal like McCain?
why continue to fight medicare cuts?
why not introduce legislation to eliminate Bush's atrocious mistake with Sarbanes-Ox?

can't cut interest, won't cut defense, refuse to cut entitlements, that leaves 17% of the budget GOPers will even consider cutting, that's fiscal liberalism that remains within the party now

Reagan spent like crazy too, bub.

And if you think McMummy is a "fiscal conservative" I'd like to sell you a bridge.

Now you are actually sounding like the real deal.

How can I defend against those accusation?
I can't.

Game over. I loose. :(

That said, you do the best with what you got. In 2000 it was Bush or McCain. I Prefered Steve Forbes, but he never got anywhere. So Bush is Better.

Then it is Bush vs Gore. Really no contest. There is not much choice in bad apples, but between apples that are just a bit bruised apples with a chorus of worms smiling at you from a gooey brown mess... no real contest.

Bush Kerry.... You make do with what you got.

No sane person ever makes war against the acceptable because it is not perfect.

YOu willing to sell that bridge on a no money down basis?
