This is my first post to this site, after holding it in for the last few months...and I am finally saying it. I have never seen such hypocrisy from a political party in my life. The lies and half-truths and distortions...it is amazing.

If Obama and his family had 1/4 the incidents that the McCain campaign has had, the assault from the GOP would be massive.

* Imagine if it was found out that the DNC had spent $150,000 on clothes for Michelle Obama? Instead, we get a hug *shoulder-shrug* and they say they are donating it to charity, so it doesn't count.

* Imagine if Obama had a 17 year-old, unwed, pregnant daughter up on stage and was shaking hands with an 18-year old black "gansta" who is dropping out of high school? Imagine the assualt from the GOP! Instead we get praise about how Christian those "darn" kids are since they plan to get married! You Betcha!

* Imagine if Obama's wife was a secessionist, such as Palin's husband is? Say she wanted Illinois to seceed from the union... Can you imagine FOX with THAT headline? Instead, we barely hear a thing about it.

I could go on, but you get the point. Like I said, I very rarely post political comments like this, but these last few weeks have just been mind-blowing to me. I had to say something.

Oh, one more thing...why is it that Obama is getting hit by Palin on his "re-distribution of wealth" comment, when she herself created a large tax on oil companies in Alaska, then with that money sent every Alaskan citizen a $2300 check? Isn't THAT "re-distribution of wealth--also known as socialism"? Any neo-con(men) want to answer that one?

Imagine if McCain had sat under David Duke's teaching for 20 years, like Obama did under Wright. The left would leave that alone?

Imagine if Obama had a 17 year old, pregnant, unwed daughter and NBC caught her sneaking out the backdoor of an abortion clinic.......

* Imagine if it was found out that the McCain had gotten a home for $300,000 under market value with the help of a convicted felon.

* Imagine if McCain had a wife whose salary had doubled when he became a Senator and who had requested an earmark of one million dollars for her employer.

* Imagine if McCain had been married by and had his children baptized by a priest who blamed the government for the AIDs epidemic, had said "Goddamn America" and blamed America for 9-11.

* Imagine if McCain had a running mate who predicted an international crisis if McCain were elected.

* Imagine if McCain had launched his political carrer from the home of an unrepentant racist?

I could go on, but you get the point.

Oh, one more thing...why is it that McCain is getting hit by Biden on his "Obama is too inexperienced" comment, when Obama himself stated Obama was not experienced enough to be President, that the Presidency does not lend itself to on the job training and that Biden would be proud to serve with McCain as President?

:D

He wasn't a "convicted felon" at the time, first of all. Also, Bloomberg News reported that "the couple who sold Barack Obama his Chicago home said the Illinois senator's $1.65 million bid 'was the best offer' and they didn't cut their asking price because a campaign donor bought their adjacent land." At least Obama only owns one home, not seven. At least Michelle Obama didn't show up in an outfit costing $300,000. Real "small-town 'merica", right?

I could answer the rest of your comments, but I didn't post the comment for that purpose. What I am getting at is that every politician gets favors from people, I don't know one that hasn't. Republicans trying to smear Obama are just opening a can of worms, because their own guys are just as crooked.

And, with my running commentary

Imagine if it was found out that the McCain had gotten a home for $300,000 under market value with the help of a convicted felon.

What? Well if it makes you feel better with the burst of the housing bubble the $300,000 discount has probably disappeared.

Imagine if McCain had a wife whose salary had doubled when he became a Senator and who had requested an earmark of one million dollars for her employer.

Is that McCain’s original wife? What is her salary? What does she do but look pissed all the time?

Imagine if McCain had been married by and had his children baptized by a priest who blamed the government for the AIDs epidemic, had said "Goddamn America" and blamed America for 9-11.

I don’t think McCain would be the Republican Candidate in that case.

Imagine if McCain had a running mate who predicted an international crisis if McCain were elected.

Either one will face an international crisis, I think Barry will do a better job of keeping a level head.

Imagine if McCain had launched his political career from the home of an unrepentant racist?

Is Ayers a racist now too? I thought he was just a Commie Terrorist?

I could go on, but you get the point.

Because McCain would have been a great president in 2000, why didn’t you guys nominate him back then. Oh I remember, that “the worst threat to Democracy in America is the religious right” comment was still too fresh.

Jdylan, your profile says you are in Iraq - Soldier?

If that's the case, how do your comrades feel about the republicans? How about Bush?

-Joe

Jdylan,

we are at point in election where facts don't enter into the discussion any more when you point out a discrepancy in the Republican reasoning. They are really pissed that Obama is doing this well.

When in the past, after one party has been completely in charge for two terms, would you hear that it's the other party's fault.

Welcome to these boards. But remember that liberals and democrats are not patriotic. We live in those other areas of the country than Palin's real America.

What? Well if it makes you feel better with the burst of the housing bubble the $300,000 discount has probably disappeared.

God save our country. :cuckoo:

What does she do but look pissed all the time?

Interesting defense of Obama's cronyism.

I don’t think McCain would be the Republican Candidate in that case.

Exactly. You make my point better than I could. :clap2:

Either one will face an international crisis, I think Barry will do a better job of keeping a level head.

Yes and Obama will vote "present". :booze:

Is Ayers a racist now too? I thought he was just a Commie Terrorist?

Get a dictionary and look up the word "analogy". And no, it does not have to do with one's rear end.

Note to intelligent Obama supporters: If this poster is representative of who you'll be having to deal with if Obama is elected I look forward to your becoming Republicans or Independents sooner than later. Welcome to your Brave New World.

If that were to happen, they would bury it, like they bury all the non-flattering news about their guy.

Not really Ali. You and Paperbuoy just get out your shit shovels and dig in any dung heap then throw what you find at Obama whether it is true or not.

Paperboy, what happened to the the little girl who was attacked by the Obama supporter? Slant Head Hannity made his whole show on that last night. Will he say he was wrong?

Can you say, President Obama?

English must be your second language because I can't make any sense whatsoever out of that post. Exactly what are you trying to say? Do you know?

Ali, criticizing my grammatical expression.

My, my. It's the pot calling the kettle black.

Actually, Wisconsin is my first language, eh?

I grew up in a small mining town (no more mines though) in a Republican family, 5th or 6th generation military/veterans all the way back to the Revolutionary war (Jacob Bates-MA). I had to go to church/sunday school until I was 18, like and use guns, so I am not the GOP stereotype of a "Liberal Democrat". But I could see pretty early in my life that the GOP differed from my views in life. But to your question...

Well, I am in the Army Signal Corps, and suprisingly...half of my platoon is either Democratic or they call themselves Independent. What is more suprising is that while the Army has a high percentage of black guys, who usually vote Democratic, my platoon only has 3 black guys, the majority is white, so this is a big deal, saying half are non-GOP. We have one hard-core McCain guy, but I feel it is only because he hates Obama so much (no reason given). He is a total redneck a-hole; thinks women should be "bar-foot n' in tha kitchun", makes rude ethnic jokes (macaca, anyone?)

We have one guy from Kentucky, a real backwoods Republican, nice guy, but he is resigned to the fact that the GOP messed up the country and just keeps quiet when others talk politics, as if he is embarassed. Another guy from San Diego still says he is Republican but is totally for Obama, doesn't like McCain and he is the most vocal about how negative McCain has been, he doesn't like it.

Yes, we have many hardcore Republicans in the Army, here is a little breakdown, as I see it: Almost every white officer is the usual white, protestant, conservative. They don't care so much about politics as they do their religion. The seem to have had it drilled into their heads that "democrats=satan". These guys are always gettign in trouble because they are trying to get junior members of the Army to go to their church, read the bible, etc. One Captain gave me a list of "required reading" at a professional training session, and the number one book was the bible. One time, at the MWR tent, a bunch of soldiers who liked to say they were pagan/wiccan/alternative wanted to have a meeting in the mess hall, like the christians do, and it was approved. However, this one Major couldn't accept it, so he went there and yelled at them, tried taking names, wanted to revoke their security clearances. Such is Army life.

All the black guys seem to be Democrats, although they really don't get into politics too much, they just know they aren't Republicans. The Hispanics seem to be Republican (probably due to their upbringing/catholic church, etc). Most of the usual Joes like me (Joe the Soldier?), white middle-class soldiers are usually mixed, just like in the states. You can throw out that GOP nonsense about the Military being all Conservative. It is all mixed, like any slice of america is.

About Bush...I will admit I never like the guy and was physically sick on election night because I knew he would win and didn't want to think of what he would do to our once proud nation. I knew right off he was a con-man and a crook and would surround himself with neo-con-men and right wingers, and I was right.

If there are any soldiers who admire him or respect him as a man/leader, I don't know any. If there is anything a (thinking) soldier hates, it is to be sent to a crap-hole of a country like Iraq and see your buddies get killed, all for false reasons (lies). Don't get me wrong, I am all for going into Afghanistan, Iran and even Pakistan. I am no war-monger like George, Inc., but I know where we need to go and what needs to be done. Iraq? Please. He totally used the military for his own selfish reasons and killed over 4000 soldiers. I hold Bush personally responsible for all the deaths in Iraq, as HE sent us there when we didn't have to go.

What would happen to a prankster who called the cops, sent them to the wrong place and they ended up getting killed? HE would be sentenced and jailed.

McCains brother calls 911 to "complain about the traffic", tells the employee "f*** you", gets busted and resigns from campaigning for his brother, and not a word on the "non-MSM" Drudge Report.

I wonder what would happen in Obama's brother did this. Headlines on Drudge, right? But in the GOP Media world, nary a whisper. More Hypocrisy.:eusa_clap:
