I'm a Catholic who thinks that the hard core pro-life/anti-birth control Catholics are nuts.
But that isnt the core of the issue.

That's the beauty of being a Catholic - I can call you an assbrain or dicklips all day long - and go to confession.
If you are against birth control, so be it. That really doesn't give you the right to impose that belief on the 75% of Catholics who think it's a crock of shit or anyone who took a job with a Chuch-owned company who might not even be Catholic.

Not sure what the big deal is. Catholics who voted for Obama knew he was pro choice, and they voted for him anyway.
Maybe some Catholics aren't so devout, huh?
.
One of the reasons I stopped being a Catholic in the 1980's, that they think that you can get a priest to erase your wrongs with a few hail marys...

CINO.
It's not about abortion, or birth control. It's about the First Amendment. Either you support the First Amendment or you do not. If you do not, say so. That's fine. It's apparent that the Constitution is an inconvenience to Liberals. Obama said so. It stops y'all from 'fundamentally transforming' America. Thank God.

You left the church because of your ignorance of one of the sacraments?
Wow.
Too bad.

Your post doesn't make any sense. So a Catholic who voted for Obama isn't so devout? You do realize there's already a law on the books making abortion legal, don't you? Voting or not voting for Obama wasn't going to change that.
And by the way, everyone shoud be upset about this. This is a big question of whether or not the Government can force legislation down our throats that go against our religious beliefs. People of every faith should take notice here. While you might not agree with the Catholic Church here, its just a matter of time before the Government steps on your belief system.
This isn't a First Amendment issue.
For a ex Catholic, I'd say he knows jack shit about Catholicism. If he did, he would know that a Priest doesn't 'erase your wrongs' with a 'few Hail Marys'. If he doesn't get that, he never was a Catholic.
This isn't a First Amendment issue.
More ignorance from you. Here, read -
"In so ruling, the Administration has cast aside the First Amendment to the Constitution of the United States, denying to Catholics our Nations first and most fundamental freedom, that of religious liberty."
if they want into the political game its time to tax them.

FYI, Catholicism isn't a "Cafeteria Style" religion. You don't pick and choose what you agree with or disagree with in the church.
It's like Texas Hold Em - you're either "all in" or you "fold."
Examples of people who claim they're Catholic - but have folded on the birth issue, for example - Pelosi, John Kerry.

This is an issue of law. The affordable care act says that except for enterprises that are exclusively religious orders, insurance must have the option of providign family planning services and reproductive health.
If being a religion exempts you from this law, it can be used as an excuse to exempt you from all laws.
By this kind of logic, the Branch Davidians could claim they were immune to the child abuse laws because, hey, that's their religion!
If you think the law sucks, have someone in Congress (you know, who passed the ACA to start with) write an amendment to change the law to allow this practice.

Actually, that's how all religions work. They may teach otherwise, but in reality there is nobody who is a "full fledged" believer of everything the church teaches. How could there be? The church itself doesn't always agree on what and how to teach. I'll agree with one thing, you don't choose to agree or disagree. It's just that people do disagree with certain aspects of what the church teaches.
It's like Texas Hold Em - you're either "all in" or you "fold."
That's what Obama bin Laden taught about Islam. Truth is that you're positing a false dichotomy. A person can be Catholic, but disagree that the Eucharist becomes the actual body and blood of Jesus. Just because the church teaches it doesn't mean that people will automatically believe it. That doesn't make them any less Catholic.

You really are an extremist, aren't you?
