I find TV today so uninteresting that I prefer to watch Threes Company re-runs

Suzanne Sommers was hot! Yes Late night TV, SNL, the sitcoms, reality shows are all pretty much crap. I'm thinking of getting one of those HD TV antennas. If I can get sports and local news I can dump cable.

Try tvfool.com and enter your address it will give you stations and signal strength in your area. I ditched cable for OTA plus invest in DVD sets.

I noticed that Magnum PI is back! I haven't seen any of the new ones.

Yeah it's so weird how they just keep cutting their own throats in the business of providing good clean family entertainment that is quality and re-enforces our mainstream values, our responsibility, our self disipline, our productiveness, and our awareness.

Yeah, that's what people want, values forced down their throats at every opportunity.

The Chinese try this, and every movie they make that is supposed to show this, flops so badly it's embarrassing.
Values should come naturally, and when we see them being re-enforced it tells us that we are on the right track in life with our society. What is your idea of values, and what is it that you are opposed to when it comes to values that have been accepted in this nation for centuries minus the bad stuff ???

I don't watch TV to have values stuffed down my throat.

People like watching stuff that connects, and often it's stuff that isn't always the right values.
We have a generational rot going on, and to deny this is being selfish really.

Yes, it's been happening since the Roman times. Your parents generation thought the same about your generation.

C'est le vie.

I do agree with you, and I'm not a prude at all. I remember what it was like to be young. There was always a basic shared belief system and I think the failure is as much if not moreso the results of their parents as it is the kids. My generation really produced some poor role models, it's definitely worse now though. Again partly because of my generation being poor parents.

That said, when I was a kid I would watch shows like the Love Boat, Fantasy Island, Threes Company and even the wild Dukes of Hazards. It just seemed to be more light hearted, not mean comedy. I think that's a big deal. The show always ended on a happy even sometimes optimistic note I noticed.

Let's face it, there are endless reasons society has changed, I will accept some of it, as long as America rejects socialism. As long as capitalism and liberty reign we should all be willing to accept some changes.

With more access to TV, TV programs can be targeted at a smaller, more hardcore, audience. Back in the day, when there were a few channels, TV had to appeal to as many people as possible, parents and kids watching the same thing.

We had the Twilight Zone, Five o'Clock High, Wagon Train, Palladin. the Ed Sullivan Show, and even to my Nana's great delight, Lawrence Welk.

My favorites are Gunsmoke, the Untouchables, and Twilight Zone.

The old Rod Serling Twilight Zone was great. If more people in authority watched those old shows they might develop better character and understand what's at stake with the fight for American capitalism.

month or so ago, I bought a Roku Stick

Been watching a lot of 30s, 40s westerns, crime dramas, comedies, musicals, etc

My favorites are Gunsmoke, the Untouchables, and Twilight Zone.
Loved gunsmoke... We all new it was time to hit the hay for school the next day when gunsmoke went off... LOL. I should hate gunsmoke for that reason.. ROTFLMBO.

I have one foot in both areas. My favorite shows that are currently in productions are Blue Bloods, Take Two, Young Sheldon, and Last Man Standing, but that is all considering how many shows are being done these days. All of my other favorites are the ones from the past.

God bless you always!!!

I havent watched TV in a years. The only American shows I'm interested in is Breaking bad, Game of thrones, the latter of which is nowhere near as good as it was the first couple seasons. Lately though I've been watching a lot of Japanese animation which tells the sorts of escapist stories you just wont see anywhere else.

Maybe I am just getting old fast and I enjoy the simpler days.

That is all. Thank you for your time.

I'm with ya...so far this year I've rewatched all of Lost, Battlestar Galactica, NCIS, Star Trek Voyager and Enterprise, The Closer, Under the Dome, Defiance, Eureka and Justified.

Babylon 5 was just added to Prime, and CSI is on Hulu...so those are next on my rewatch list.

I am looking foreward to "The Rookie" in ABC in October....

There are 2 very good new shows I watched repeatedly this year. Both seem to have been discontinued. >> The Brave.....and....SEAL Team

So when they finally DO come up with something good, they get rid of it. Pheeew!

The old shows are being recast and brought back. The new stars have to be black or gay. The old shows are still on for real entertainment. The new stuff can go die.

Thanks for that trailer. I like Nathan Fillion, although I don't know if that show will have enough humor for him. I think he's at his best with a good mix of drama and comedy.

exactly.well said, hollywood can burn down to hell for all i care.

that is the ONLY reason that hollywood committed treason and made CRAPloose because they wanted to get the fucking blacks to be seen in a classic great movie by taking a shit on kevin bacon.the one and ONLY Ren Mccormick.they wanted the black community to have the chance to listen to rap music and ruin a great classic.

so well said, the new stuff can die and the people in hollywood making the remakes can go to hell and burn there slowly.
