Practically 42 percent to 50 percent.

Gallup is still on yesterdays.

RealClearPolitics - Election 2008 - General Election: McCain vs. Obama

+7.7 for Obama. I think if McCain focuses more on the issues and less on attacking Obama, he'll re-gain some of the lead. There's a reason why so many people liked him in 2000. I think if he goes back to John McCain 2000, the race will be closer.

As much as I support the idea for a government run healthcare, it's not very popular. McCain needs to hit at the classical liberal argument of bigger government, more spending vs. smaller government less spending. If McCain has a budget for 2009-2010, it would be interesting to see that.

McCain is going to receive quite a beating if this keeps up.

Yes, it's over. Liberals can stay home on November 4, as they historically do.

How was Clinton elected – twice? Was it because liberals showed up and/or was it because conservatives stayed home. Cute but even if several liberals stay home, I predict that Obama will win.

No liberals are staying home this time my friends.

Cons will be the ones giving up and staying home.

It is fun to listen to Hannity, Limbaugh and other right-wing talking heads.
They sure sound desperate. Didn’t Hannity once say that Hillary should give up and stop wasting Democrat resources. Now when it comes down to McCain versus Obama, why doesn’t he just advice Republicans to give up and save their money for the next campaign?

Unless you're wealthy (>$250,000 in gross combined yearly income), you WILL get your $10 if Obama is elected. It's called wealth redistribution.

Not to mention the fact that more people voted for Al Gore than for any presidential candidate in history (except MAYBE Baby Bush) ... gee, you think those votes came from repubs?

In the last two elections, the repubs fired up "the base" with guns, g-d and gays. Given the huge problems we're facing right now and the huge clean up we're going to have to do, seems this isn't a "base" election.
