I don't want to live in this country anymore

I really don't want to be here anymore but there is no other place to go in the world where a person can go and be as 'free' so I'm stuck here. The problem that I see is that this society is slowly caving into more government control and we have to fight our ass off to stop it. The constitution itself was the first step to more government control of our lives and then it slowly expanded until we have the mess we have today. I can't figure out why people opt for more control over their lives or the lives of others because if each one of us is conducting our lives that is in accordance with our conscience and not harming another person then why do we need any control whatsoever? I believe that each person in society should live by their own conscience and be in accordance with that and if you are a christian that usually is God but a muslim who believes in Ala should live according to what Ala tells him. The only obligation that each person has is to their God or nature's god (whatever you happen to believe) since each person was created by nature they are only obligated to nature only and nothing more.

That''s a bit idealistic. Maybe you can use your idealism to answer a question for me.

b) Have their lives saved at the expense of the hospital
c) Have their lives saved at the expense of the taxpayer
d) Have their lives saved at the expense of the hospital's paying customers.
e) Be saddled with so much debt they can never pay it off and hence something between b, c, and d inevitably will happen.
f) Have their lives saved at the expense of a magical tree that grows money which exists in your ideal world

Aw... now... it's not as bad as all that. Buck up. ;)

This has been a wearying battle, that's for sure. Day in and day out... it seems like there's always some deceitful legislative trick, some nasty smear, some further depredation upon our liberties from the leftists in office.

But hang in there. November is coming. And Lord willing, we'll leave Obama impotent afterwards, to sit and spin for his final two years.

Do not forget that Americans are still good people for the most part. Have some faith in your fellow citizens. They're not as stupid as the current administration believes they are.
This country will come through. The one good thing about electing a lying socialist is that the mask of liberalism has been ripped away forever. The slow decline is over. Incrementalism is at an end. And yeah, the struggle is a tiring one, but don't let a bad day keep you down. :eusa_angel:

Oh... and bookmark this thread, so that next time you catch some liberal asshat whining about "civil discourse" you can daintily jam it down their throat. It ain't right to kick somebody when they're down. :hmpf:

Well, if you conflate liberalism with an absence of freedom, you may be fucked. The country most often credited with being the "Most Free" is the Netherlands, but they're quite liberal over there.

I would certainly see them more free than the US.....

Oh they certainly are, it's not really a debate. But they have national single-payer healthcare, strict environmental policies, and a graduated progressive income tax system, 52% for the top bracket.

Conservatives around here these days seem to opine that these things can't coexist with "Freedom."

Get some help. You're talking yourself into a major depressive episode. Stop focusing on a deluded view of your society fed to you through FoxNews and wingnut blogs. Look at your personal situation, not the bullshit vested interests are spreading in the hope that you and millions of others fall into despair.

Or migrate to New Zealand, it's a lovely place.

DO NOT send him to NZ! Lets keep it a nice place.

You are losing it. Log off the internet for at least a week and go out in the real world, just stay away from gun stores and post offices please.

Take a walk in the woods, go canoeing, go hiking, just get some fresh air and maybe you'll get your mental health back.

That has never and will never happen. Ever. Never.

My suggestion is for you to "injure" your back at work, get on disability, welfare and foodstamps, sign up for the free healthcare coming and begin drinking heavily. Then send your story to MTV and get a reality show about how Obama gave you all kinds of Obama money...for free!!!!!!

That''s a bit idealistic. Maybe you can use your idealism to answer a question for me.

In an ideal society - one with all that super duper freedom of god and stuff you just described - when a person shows up in the emergency room and needs immediate treatment to save their life - and they don't have any proof that they have insurance, nor enough cash on them for the service, they should -

a) Die.
b) Have their lives saved at the expense of the hospital
c) Have their lives saved at the expense of the taxpayer
d) Have their lives saved at the expense of the hospital's paying customers.
e) Be saddled with so much debt they can never pay it off and hence something between b, c, and d inevitably will happen.
f) Have their lives saved at the expense of a magical tree that grows money which exists in your ideal world

The problem with this scenario is that its not my choice to make. Its the hospitals and the patients choice since they are free to choose what they want to do with their own lives.

just as you are free to get your ass out of this country....as for no other country being as free that is just malshit excuses...if you want to leave. go....but dont whine that you want to leave and have to stay...cause your ass dont....if you are too big a pussy to leave...fine...but you can still shut the fuck up.
