Unlike republican/conservatives and abortion, democrats and liberals see guns as a losing issue, the right of the individual to own guns is here to stay, they understand that and have moved on.

As evidenced by the widspread and open opposition from the liberal and Democrats in regard to the proposed increases in gun control coming from the White House, et al.
